Hi Candy,
Dunhuang: All four of us were extremely happy with the guide and driver. Helen took us to the Sand Dunes very early in the morning. A very good advice since it got very hot nearer lunch time. She told us about the history of the Mogao Grottoes which complimented the wonderful tour we had through the different caves. The driver was very considerate by getting the car cooled down before we arrived back and drove to the next attraction. This is perfect service. The Hotel rooms were good. The Hotel overall was good. However, the breakfast was not to our liking. We are used to Chinese breakfasts by now but the selection offered by this Hotel was too different for us. Lunch was wonderful. Helen took us to a lovely restaurant which had both airconditioning and delicious food. The selection of the Xi'an and the Shanghai Hotels is very good. Great locations, very good service, nice breakfast and good views. We will forward your questionnaire to Bonnee and Carolyn. Kind regards Marianne and Reinhold Reinhold, Marianne: 07:45:39Bonnee and Carolyn told us that they had :" an awesome time" in Shanghai. We all loved Dunhuang. The guide was just lovely and took very good care of us and our needs. Our daughter Bailee will arrive in Beijing on the 6th of December and we will get in touch with you closer to the time for some tours for her. Thanks for the free breakfast !
You are lovely!!

Dear Candy ,
I like the best Guilin and Li river cruise and biking after river cruise . And of course Forbiden City and Summer palace and tarassed fields. All my guides were very good and it is hard to choose . If I have to do it I will say thay mabey Clair in Guilin and Eleven in Beijing because I've spent with them much more time than with other guides All holets and meal were great. I like the best hotel in Shanghai.I 've already done it. I 'v recomended your company to two of my friends.Mabey if it is posiblle more time in Summer Place- having posibility to claimb to the Pagoda in Summer Palace . In Shanghai I think children palace is not interesting and you can aad more places to see than I had.

Hi Karen,
Thank you!!! The trip was amazing and I had such a wonderful time, my friend also reflected that he appreciated all the accommodations!!! Each city had wonderful attractions. But for me the Mutianyu Great Wall and Xi'an City Wall were the most memorable. It was amazing to climb the Great Wall, and it was great the wall was not crowded at all. Bicycle ride on the Xi'an City Wall was relaxing and great way to enjoy the city scenery. All the tour guides were great, but I think Linda and Brenda did wonderful jobs as tour guides in Beijing and Xi'an. In Hangzhou I did manage to take the free afternoon and go back to my childhood neighborhood!!! I even found my old apartment building and visited my elementary school!!! It was very emotional (in a very good way) and it was wonderful to see how a lot of changes happened, but still a lot has remained the same as it did 14 years ago also! :) All hotels and meals were excellent!! Each hotel had great services as well. I personally enjoyed Hangzhou (Zhejiang Grand Hotel) and Shanghai (Central Hotel) hotels the best, they had the best breakfast selections. Definitely. Everything was wonderfully planned out and tour guides accommodated to our requests and were flexible. I would definitely recommend the Xi'an bicycle ride on the City Wall. The evening shows I enjoyed (Beijing acrobatics, Xian Tang dynasty show and dinner, and Shanghai acrobatics) were all excellent. Definitely the Great Wall and Temple of Heaven in Beijing. West Lake in Hangzhou. Gardens (Humble Administrators and Master of Nets Garden) in Suzhou. All beautiful Again I really appreciate all of your help with the planning of this trip and making it so unforgettable!!
Have a great day.

Dear Karen,
First I would like to thank you for all your hard work with planning and booking our China-Tour.Everything went very well during our journey including all internal flights. This is actually hard to decide as we liked a lot of our trip. We think the forbidden city and the great wallwere the most impressive once. All of our tour guides were good in their own ways, but the most outstanding one was Nancy in Beijing.First of all Nancy has a great knowledge of all attractions in Beijing and it was very interesting listen to her.She was always very helpful and very friendly during our stay. She even managed to get my husband 2 tailored suitsFrom one of the state silk company we visited during our stay in-time for our departure. She was the only one whotaught us Chinese words and sentences. We would also like to mentioned Oskar in Guilin for doing a great bicycleTour with us and being unbelievable friendly and jolly. All hotels were great except the Guilin Waterfall Hotel. The breakfast in Guilin was only average qualityAnd the service was dreadful. Our room had an awful smell and was not a 4 Star standard. The best of all our hotels was the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai. The service was fantastic, the breakfast outstandingand the room just great. We enjoyed the dumpling dinner. The food was very well and we never ate something similar before. The Peking duck dinner was a bit disappointing. We had better Peking duck before in Europe and we thought it would be nice evening for the two of us but it was very crowded and loud in the restaurant. We already recommend your company to a lot of friends and colleagues and I am sure some ofthem will book a trip with you over the next years. Not to be missed attractions: Great Wall, Forbidden City and Li River CruiseShows not to be missed: Acrobatic show in Shanghai (our tour guide booked this for us) All in all it was a fantastic trip. Everything was well planned. All our rooms were King bedrooms. Thanks again organizing a great holiday for us. Best regards,
Nicole and Marc Thiele
Dear Karen,
Thank you very much for organizing for us such a wonderful China trip! All of us were quite impressed by the quality of hotels, food, programs, and particularly by the professionalism of the assigned guides and drivers. We will make certain to recommend China Highlights in future to our friends and anybody else planning a vacation in China. We enjoyed our trip so much and I hope we will be able to have another China vacation in future. Our stay on the train was quite comfortable. The train from Beijing to Chongqing was a little bit more comfortable than the other from Yichang to Hangzhou and it was a good idea to get two separate cabins on our own. We could leave the kids sleeping, while we played cards. I should say that I expected a bit more from Victoria Cruises; overall, it was ok, but the food was not as good as the food we had in restaurants in Beijing, Chongqing and Hangzhou, as organized by China Highlights. The best hotel in our opinion was Lakeview in Hangzhou, but the others were also quite comfortable. All our guides were excellent and very professional, but if we have to select one, it would be David in Chongqing. Best regards,
Philip
Dear Candy,
So many sights were so memorable. The Great Wall was great to see, the Hutong district was fascinating, the countryside and village people and beautiful Li River scenery stand out as the great attractions as well as the Terra cotta soldiers. Great hotels and meals. We enjoyed the hotel in Guilin because the view was so beautiful. The breakfast was really good at Days Inn Beijing. All the meals were tasty and there was always plenty of food.We enjoyed just about everything. Our least favorite was the factory where they made the clay soldiers. We would rather have spent the time going to the actual site. It was such a hot day and the early morning would have been better to beat the crowds to the soldiers. We were exhausted after that trip. Also, the summer is not the best time to travel in China. It is very hot and humid. I imagine spring and fall would be lovely.

Dear Michael,
Mt Huashan. Just an amazing gondola ride into the clouds. Seeing the sun when we got above the smog/clouds was fantastic. The monks at the temple were very cool as well. Tina was our only tour China Highlights guide in Xian, but she was better than the tour guides that we used in Beijing. She was fantastic. Her efforts climbing to the top of Mt. Huashan were notable. I have recommended her specifically to my friends traveling to Xi'an. Her knowledge of the exhibits at the museums was amazing. She knew the history of China and all the dynasties / emperors. Impressive. We stayed at the Sheraton in Xian and were very impressed with the rooms, service and breakfasts. Five stars would be the best description of the amenities we experienced. I already have once and will again to recommend China Highlights to our friends. Mt Huashan should not be missed if you are physically capable of climbing stairs for a couple hours over a half a day. It was physically trying, but well worth the effort. The gondola ride (the largest in Asia) was worth the price of admission, but the view at the top made it worth the travel on airplanes, trains and buses to get there.

Dear Angela,
The Great Wall, Though it was to foggy that day to see very far, it was wonderful to be on such an important historical landmark. We only had one tour guide, both days. His name was Jon and he was very informative. We were rushed a bit through attractions and spent to much time in the government run stores. The hotel was excellent. They even left me a birthday cake with out any one in my party telling them it was my birthday. Alicia
Dear Karen,
The Terracotta Warriors site was the most amazing. Xian was overall a bit of a disappointment but the Warriors attraction made the flight there worthwhile. The size and scope of this project and reason for it's being is bizarre and like nothing we've ever heard of. They were all wonderful. We had 5 different guides on our trip and what really impressed us was how much they enjoy their work. They were all enthusiastic, helpful, and fun young people with very good English skills. We enjoyed their company and learned so much from them about China. My favourite was Jack in Beijing, and my husband's favourite was Snow in Hangzhou. Jack was interested in us, our country, and our reaction to China and the sites we visited. I appreciated his conversation and extra effort to make our tour of Beijing memorable. His recommendations for our evenings were good and he facilitated everything smoothly. Snow was sweet, calm and organized on a very hot, busy weekend in Hangzhou. My husband says she was outstanding because she had such a caring, pleasant, and helpful personality. I agree. The hotel rooms were all fine - they were clean and quiet. I feel that if China hotels are serious about hosting Western tourists in a big way, they need to provide more written material in English (menus, newspaper, etc.) and improve the spoken English of their employees. The Bund in Shanghai was the exception - they provided an English newspaper, English guides in the room, and some staff spoke some English. The Bund upgraded our room to a suite and so our last 2 nights in China were most comfortable! The Lakeview Hotel in Hangzhou was the best location and their restaurant was quite good too. Yes, we absolutely will recommend China Highlights! If you're in Hangzhou, be sure to see the Impressions West Lake. This show, about the history of Hangzhou, features an outdoor amphitheatre, huge stage on the water, impressive set and amazing choreography.
