Hi Sunny.
We were so sorry not to be able to meet you in Guilin, but had a very nice time in your city. The only unfortunate thing was that both Maureen and Michelle became ill for one evening as a result of something they ate on the Li River Cruise. But they were ok the next day, so it didn't last long enough to interfere with our tour. I can't thank you enough for all of your help--both in the planning and throughout our tour. And I am so glad we didn't do the Yangtze River cruise after all because Chengdu was by far our favorite stop! And while all of the guides were good, our guide Michelle in Chengdu was a true highlight for us. As you know, we had a very bad experience at the initial hotel in Xian. After staying in all of the other hotels in each city, I wanted to let you know that, even without the smoke, the Goldentang Hotel was greatly inferior to the others we visited. I recommend that it be dropped from your list. Also, the restaurant where we had lunch the first day in Beijing was the worst restaurant we visited in China. The food was bland and the meat of bad quality. We suggest that you not send people there. Otherwise, everything was great, and we will be sure to recommend China Highlights to everyone we know! We have enjoyed the trip very much and I must say that our guide (Doris) at Huangshan was very knowledge and helpful. Huangshan, espcially the moment we saw the "Yuan Hai"was the most memorable attraction. When we were at Huangshan,our guide Doris, was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was able to share a lot of information about Huangshan when we were there. Generally, the meals were good except that the night stay at Beihai was rather cold at night even after we have on the heater to the fullest.

I wanted to write to you separately from the email I have just sent you concerning the evaluation of our visit to Guilin to thank you for evrything you did to make our stay in China such an enjoyable and exhilarating one. All the hotels in which we stayed were absolutely first class, comfortable and welcoming. All the places that we visited and, with the one exception, all the restaurants in which we eat were well chosen and extremely enjoyable. Our guides in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai were exceptionally good, they looked after us extremely well and were enjoyable and friendly to be with. All of this would not have been so, I am sure, if it had not been for the exceptional organisation by you of the whole tour, its arrangements and choice of guides to look after us. We were most pleased that we were able to meet you in Guilin to thank you personally. We certainly hope to visit China again at some time in the future and will certainly use the services of China Highlights when we do. We will also be pleased to recommend China Highlights to any of our friends or acqaintances who may be planning to visit your beautiful country. Many apologies for my delay in returning our answers to your survey following our holiday in China in December. I set out the answers to your questions below using your numbering. 1 The Great Wall of China, where we had the whole wall, at the point we climbed on to it and for as far as we could see, to ourselves. It was breathtaking experience anyway but to experience it in that situation was even more so when all the pictures you normally see of it shows thousands of people on it. The other highlight was definitely the Terracotta Warriors in Xian. We had absolutely no idea of the scale of the find or of the figures themselves and it was a completely mind blowing experience. 2 It would be difficult for us to single out any one of the guides we had in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai. They were all exceptionally good and looked after us well. You already have our feed back on the guide in Guilin. 3 All the hotels we stayed in were of the highest standard. Our rooms were great, especially the one in Xian and we were looked after extremely well in all of them. 4 We would most certainly recommend your company to friends and, in fact, have already done so. We cannot speak highly enough of all the arrangements you made for us. 5 We were both extremely impressed with everything we saw and experienced in China and certainly want to return in the future, and see, perhaps, some other places. However, to experience everything we saw on this visit was important for us in being able to begin to understand the history of China and relate it to the most impressive modernization that the country has undergone in the last thirty years. We greatly enjoyed the Dance Show in Guilin and the M Bund restaurant in Shanghai and would certainly recommend people to go to Guilin for the cruise on the Li River and the fantastic Reed Flute Cave. We would also certainly recommend that clients are enabled to experience the train ride from downtown Shanghai to the airport. It is so easy to board it, even with more luggage than we had, and certainly avoids having to risk sitting in traffic jams in going by car. It is an amazing experience in itself to travel on the fastest train in the world!! 6 We would be quite happy to talk to any potential customers and would suggest email contact as the best. However, we would appreciate being warned in advance. 7 We would be pleased to receive your regular newsletter. 8 We will look at the photos taken on my wife’s camera and if there are any there which we would be happy for you to put on your website we will forward them to you shortly. 9 I have no immediate comments on the newsletter but will look at future issues carefully and if any comments occur I will email you with them. I have noted the offer of a discount on our next China tour – thank you. I hope the above is helpful to you. I'm home safe and sound. I want to thank you and everyone involved in organizing my China trip. When I think back about it I can't quit thinking about how everything was so well organized. All my tour guides were so efficient. If I could see them now I would tip some of them more than they got, I feel bad about that because they worked hard. I had a great time in China and was treated to great hospitality and friendship. Anyway I'm getting a little long winded so I'll just say thanks again and I will definitely send people to you if they are going to China. All the best in the New Year.

Thanks for organizing such a wonderful China Trip for us. And it was very nice to meet you at Guilin. During our 13 days stay, Xian Terracotta. Not because of the soldiers themselves, but because of the whole trip - the long drive through the city and countryside, the nostalgic, if not dated, 360-degrees movie, the massive buildings and structures. Xian's Wild Goose Pagoda - the beautiful jade work, lovely rooms and the peace and tranquility I felt was indescribable. I would highlighly recommend all of the further visitors coming to China to take your PRIVATE TOUR, with Claire, very patient, friendly, and outgoing personal guide at Guilin, we enjoyed the The Terraced fields and biking tour in Yangshuo. She told us the appionted time next day and to airport. Except the placed mentioned above, Roasted Duck at Qianmen Quanjude in Beijing. The Islamic market in Xian should be taken in for all groups. My suggestion is to skip Hong Kong as the final destination, as it's very western and breaks the rhythm of the otherwise China-heavy trip. For more, i have received several newsletters, I think it is great and very informative! so please leave me on the list. Again, thanks very much for such a nice China trip.

We had a wonderful, wonderful time in Guilin and in China in general, everything went extremely well, thanks, in part, to you, and we won't forget your help. Dear Karen,
Thanks very much for organising such a wonderful tour for us. I have been living in China for the past 18 monthes and already knew how warm and friendly the people are to visitors but, this was my wife's first time in China, and she loved it. Both Emily and Leo were exceptional and extremely knowledgeable. But, if I had to choose only one to be our guide for the entire tour, it would be Emily. Please do not take this as a mark against Leo because his local knowledge is very impressive. But Emily focused on our intrest of scenic areas for photo's and put in extra effort to find those spots on the tour. For the hotels, I was a little disappointed in the value per cost for each. For the cost of the rooms, small items such as internet connections should not have cost extra. However, this does not matter i recommend China Highlights to my friends, and i will definately contact you when i could take a vocation or my family visiting me again.

I have been meaning to write to thank you for a marvelous China trip. I feel you were a very important part in making this trip for me a dream come true. My guide, Yoshi, was very helpful and pointed out many sites along the way. His English and Chinese history knowledge is excellent. My most memorable part of the trip was the Great Wall. The weather cooperated so beautifully that day and I was able to walk for over an hour. Thanks much for that excursion. Sunworld Hotel was excellent, the breakfasts were outstanding with a wide variety of choices, and the wait staff was very courteous and friendly. I will surely recommend your tour group to friends and relatives who have plans to visit China in the future. And next time when I get to see the terra cotto soldiers I will definitely contact your company.
