Hi Candy,
It was so nice to get to talk to you while in Xian. I did want to thank you again for your trip suggestions and arrangements. All was done very professionally and on schedule and with knowledgeable and very friendly guides. We could not have been more pleased. What we saw of China was very impressive and we must travel there again. And a special thanks to you and Eileen for the Terracotta Warrior which will be prominately displayed as a rememberance of you both.

Hi Forster I have arrived safely at my hotel at the airport ready to leave for Paris tomorrow morning and I wanted to once again thank you very much for showing me a wonderful time on my four-day tour of Guilin, Longsheng, the Li River and Yangshou. The tour lived up to all my expectations and I really appreciate the time and thought you put into making my stay a truly memorable one. As a woman traveling alone, I found the China Highlights tour to be a fantastic, hassle-free way to travel. You and the driver took care of everything - all I had to do was enjoy. Being met at the airport and having luggage, hotels and meals all taken care of took all the worry and hassles out of traveling for me. Thanks again and hope to see you in Australia some time – or on my next visit to China. Kind regards Vivienne Weus PS Please send me a return email with your personal email address as the one I have did not work. Thanks.
Dear Angela,
The most memorable attraction visited by us was the Forbidden City in Beijing. It was really a very interesting place to go there to know more about China History. Once we got back to our country, we went to watch the movie “The last Emperor” as recommended by our tour guide VickyXu Yan and we felt being there again me and my mother!!! What a wonderful place! We liked as well so much the Great wall tour which is one the most important Seven Wonders of the World that we have almost dreamt to see much more we were very surprised by the way that it was built at the emperor days!! And the Shangri la/Li river cruise tour in Guilin which was very touching by its panoramic views and wide landscapes and mountains. All the tour guides provided during our itinerary tour with Chinahighlights are great. Each guide tour was different by his character/attitude same as Variety of cities visited in China. We have discovered and learnt a lot about China from them. We were touched by the smiley face of “Xu Yan”which accompanied us during our journey in Beijing, by the sense of humor and the fun of “Mr.Gu Jia Zhou” in Shanghai, by the attention to the historical details of “Yang Fan” in Xian and by the sweetness and kindness of The Osmanthus flower of Guilin “Wei Mei Ping”. We would like to recommend Pacific Luck Hotel in Shanghai and YMCA Hotel in Hong Kong for which their service and meals provided was very good and up to the standards. I will definitely recommend you as a Tour guide company to my friends, my colleagues, my family and to everyone who would like to go and visit and discover China!I would suggest not to miss the Tang Dynasty show in Xian, the Acrobatic show in Shanghai at Circus world and the Impression Liu Sanjie in Guilin. They are amazing! And if someone want to have fun and good time with friends and family, the best place to go is to Hong Kong to Ocean Park and Disney Land of Hong Kong!

Hello, Candy!
I know I've been a bit delinquent in sending you some feedback on our trip. It has been a busy summer since returning from China. We are now enjoying watching the Beijing Olympics, catching glimpses of places we visited! So with the television tuned to the Olympics now, I thought I would forward some thoughts about our trip. In addition, I have attached the picture of the three of us at the Sheraton Hotel! First of all, one of the highlights was meeting YOU in Guilin!!! Thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedule to meet us at the Sheraton. It was nice to finally "put a face to the e-mails." !! It was a pleasure having the chance to chat with you! As you know, the first part of our itinerary was our Victoria Yangtze River Cruise. Our flight from Shanghai to Yichang was delayed that day for 5 hours due to stormy weather. I was a bit worried if our guide in Yichang would still be meeting us after such a long delay. He was there, reassured us that the ship had not left yet, expedited our transfer to the cruise ship, all the while giving us some interesting information during the drive to the pier! We much appreciated that after such a long day! The Victoria cruise was wonderful! All the excursions - the Three Gorges Dam, Shennong Stream, and the Fengdu town, were great! The visit into the Lesser Gorges/Shennong Stream was the most memorable attraction. The ship and local guides were all quite informative, food was good, and accommodations top-notch! I would recommend this river cruise for its scenic wonders (apparently, we were very lucky to have good weather with fairly clear skies) and for the cultural interests (learning about the effects of the Dam on the surrounding cities, history, and people. Our short city trip in Chongqing was also enjoyable. The pandas at the Zoo were so cute! As you may recall, we had looked forward to visiting the Chengdu Panda Research Base, but canceled after the earthquake. So this was an acceptable alternative, though I still wished I could have held a panda cub! Our guide was quite informative. Last but not least, our accommodations in Hong Kong were great! Thank you for recommending the Royal Garden - excellent location! I would strongly recommend China Highlights for my friends/colleagues for the following reasons: 1) Excellent, comprehensive, informative, user-friendly website, 2) Prompt e-mail responses to inquiries, 3) Ability to customize personal tours, 4) Reliable, informative, knowledgable, friendly tour guides, and 5) Reasonable prices. You may use me as a reference, and my email as a contact method. Thank you again for great service and a wonderful tour. I'll try to forward additional photos later.
Best regards,

Dear Candy,
I always wanted to tell you how much we did enjoy our holidays in July in China! Our tour was just great. Everything was perfectly organized and went well. Xian and the Yangtze River cruise were my absolut favorites and I can recommend it to everybody. I've heard that there is a new train now from Beijing to Lasha. We may do this trip in 2 years. When we come to China next time, I certainely will get back to you for the organization. Thank you very much again for your good work and with best regards from Zürich Andrea
Jay,
I am very sorry about the delay in responding to your inquiry below. Steven did not receive the message (since the only email address you have is my email address), and the message below was not sent to my inbox but was rather placed in my quarantine/junk mail.
My thank you note is below (and while we appreciate the offer, we politely decline the need for any reward). I want to thank you so much for all of your help in arranging our Tibetan tour. The Tibet re-opened the day before we flew to Shanghai. Originally, our plan was to explore Shanghai, the canal towns, and the West Lake areas of China. However, upon our arrival, we heard about the re-opened Tibet and we decided, even though the possibility was remote, that we would try to find our way to Tibet. We had eight days total in Asia before our return flight to San Francisco, and we had heard rumors regarding how hard it was to get a permit to Tibet. We did not have high hopes, but we began calling tour agencies on the Sunday after we arrived. Most were closed and did not answer, and I tried contacting an American agency who specialized in tours to Tibet as a back-up option as well. Then we called China Highlights, and Jay answered. We explained that we essentially wanted the impossible: we needed a Tibetan permit within 48 hours, and we wanted a private tour with guide and driver for four days in Tibet arranged for this coming week, so that we had enough time to return to Shanghai and make our flight back to the United States. Jay was extremely nice and amazingly efficient. He emailed us with the paperwork to fill out that Sunday morning. While we explored Shanghai Sunday afternoon and Monday, Jay was hard at work getting our Tibetan permits. I believe it was by Tuesday morning we had our Tibetan permit, and while we leisurely explored the canal towns outside of Shanghai on Tuesday, Jay was hard at work planning our flights, hotels, and guides for the Tibetan tour. By the time we arrived back at our Shanghai hotel Tuesday afternoon, Jay had arranged our private Tibetan tour and provided us with our flight, hotel, and guide information. We were beyond impressed. On Wednesday morning, we were picked up at our hotel in Shanghai and escorted to the airport. Our flight was amazing on the way into the Lhasa airport, as the Himalayas took your breath away. We landed and outside of the airport were our Tibetan guide, Danny, and our driver. Danny and our driver were really just fantastic. They presented us with a Tibetan welcome scarf, introduced themselves, and we were on our way. I cannot speak enough about Danny and how wonderful the four-day tour was with Danny as our guide. It was a real treat to have a guide who spoke English so well but grew up in Tibet. He had a perspective on the culture, people, and the historical sites that no other could have. Despite the fact that it had re-opened, I was a little nervous about safety issues and that was at the forefront of my mind when we arrived. I should not have been nervous, as we felt very safe in Tibet during our stay. Because it had just re-opened, we experienced something very special. We were one of the first handful of foreign tourists in Tibet at the time, so we had unfettered access to the various sites on our itinerary since it was not at all crowded and overrun with tourists. In fact, some sites usually have a maximum amount of time you can visit so that other tourists can see the sites, as well--but with our trip, all of the rules were set aside due to the low numbers of foreigners. We strolled around monasteries and palaces at our leisure, and Danny explained the history and significance of all that we were seeing. Language barriers were no problem at all - Danny knew Tibetan, Mandarin, and English so we were always in good hands everywhere we went. During the times that we had free to explore on our own, there were no safety issues or language barriers then, either. Most shopkeepers have a passing understanding of English and we felt very welcome everywhere we visited. All in all, the trip to Tibet was an unforgettable and amazing experience, and I want to thank you for all you did to assist us in making it happen.

Hi Karen,
I wanted to send you a note and thank you so much for all your efforts. We had a terrific time on our trip in China, and the China Highlights portion was a huge reason for that. Everything went so well, and all the segments were amazing in their own way. My only suggestion is that you strongly encourage travelers against entering Hong Kong via train. Our experience in the Shenzen train station (and entering Hong Kong at that point) was very nerve- wracking. Even so, the trip was great, overall!
Thanks again,
Steven Tuckey
Elaine,
Here are my comments on the trip. We had a fabulous time--it was the perfect way to see China! We thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing! Thank you so much for all of your help. Your prompt responses and useful information really made me feel comfortable as I was planning and ordering our trip through China Highlights. For most of us, the Forbidden City was an unforgettable and mesmerizing place. The architecture was amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed our guide's explanations. This is a difficult question to answer because we thought that all of our guides were wonderful. They were all so accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable. But if we had to choose one guide as the most outstanding, it would be our Beijing guide, Samantha. She was so knowledgeable, kind, and helpful, and she seemed to have particularly good timing when she explained things and helped us move throughout the tour. That day probably had the busiest schedule or our entire trip, and it was impressive to see how she handled all of the details and made sure that our group was able to see everything at a suitable pace. She was also very personable and friendly. It was our first time going on a city tour, and it was nice to see so many wonderful sites and have everything taken care of for us. After that day (which was the first day of our vacation), I had very high expectations for the rest of the trip, and I'm glad to say that the rest of the trip met and even exceeded those expectations. We were very impressed with all of the guides. Each had their own personality, but they were all equally professional and helpful. Actually, there was another guide that I must mention, and that is Tracy in Xian. She led our family on a tour of the city wall and history museum. She was so knowledgeable, and her ability to communicate so much information in English was very impressive. She was a lot of fun to be with, and she guided us at a pace that was perfect for our family. The hotel that we enjoyed the most, by far, was the Guangzhou hotel in Beijing. It was so luxurious and beautiful, and the food was absolutely wonderful! It was a great place to relax after touring the city around us! Of course I must also mention the Katrina, the ship that we were on, as well. The food and accommodations there far exceeded our expectations and it was an amazing way to see the Yangtze! The only meal that was disappointing was the breakfast we had at the Best Western in Chongqing. The hotel looked deserted, and the breakfast had very little variety--hardly any western dishes at all. I should mention, though, that the lunch we ate that day was definitely the best single meal of the entire trip. The restaurant that we ate at was really beautiful, and the meal was very delicious! Definitely. From start to finish, China Highlights was a very professional and pleasant agency to work with.
Thanks for all your help!
