Dear Eva
We returned home to the UK on 26/04/06 after spending time in China, Australia and America. David and I had the most wonderful time in China and enjoyed every minute while we were on tour with CHT. Your efforts, as well as the individual tour guides in the respective cities, went beyond all expectations, and we thank you for making our trip to your fascinating country, a most memorable one. I will definitely be referring China Highlights Travel to others who are interested in touring China. I have completed the Service Evaluation form and submitted it. I hope this finds you well.
Best regards
Shayne and David Hingle
Hi Sunny, We had a fantastic 12-day trip in southern China, thanks to the detailed planning of our trip with you before we left U.S., to the helpful and friendly tour guides in each city, and to the many sites and shows that we saw. Shanghai: Linco is a friendly and outgoing tour guide. She gave a good tour of the Yuyuan Garden, and when we asked for more time at the Shanghai Museum, she readily agreed. Loved the Shangcheng Acrobats. On our return to Shanghai from Guilin, we were met by Brad instead of Linco, and he introduced us to yet another acrobat show in a dome. Our daughters really enjoyed the show. Brad is a very experienced and good tour guide. Suzhou: Alan's command of English is superb, and he explained a lot of topics with ease and knowledge, as we headed to Suzhou from Shanghai. The tour of the silk factory turned out really interesting on account of his explanations of the life of the silkworm and the process of making silk. We really appreciated his sense of humor and his knowledge. It was important that Alan helped us all the way to where we boarded the train, otherwise we would have taken a looonnng time to find our way. Hangzhou: Ella is a very thoughtful and considerate guide. When we were in Wuzheng, I stopped constantly to take photographs and she was fine by our no-schedule meandering. On our trip to Wuzhen and back, Ella talked with us about different facets of Chinese life. We all enjoyed visiting the tea plantation. Learned a lot from the woman who showed us how tea is made, the different grades of tea, ... When I asked if Ella could get us tickets to see another acrobat show in Shanghai, she suggested the Hangzhou show, and so that night we went to see the Hangzhou dance/singing show. Again, our schedule remained flexible enough to add different side trips and shows because of having a private tour. Zhejiang Grand Hotel: the family's favoite hotel in terms of variety of food offered at breakfast & dinner buffets, an outstanding Chinese restaurant, comfortable hotel beds & quilts, plus excellent service. Guilin: Joanna is a terrific guide: cheerful, friendly, easygoing, attentive and very comfortable to be with. Beautiful English as well. Aside from the planned itinerary, when I asked her about getting tickets for another Shanghai acrobat show, Joanna suggested instead that we see the Chang Yimou's night show. The show was terrific, and for me, a wonderful celebration of the fishermen and farmers' lives. Also, as a tourist, I managed to glimpse into the culture of ethnic minorities in China through that show. Both Joanna and David, the driver, were extremely patient with the terrible traffic jam after the show. A foot massage and the pearl museum were all unplanned stops as well. Both Joanna and David were very relaxed about whatever we wanted to do. Again, the flexibility of a customized tour worked extremely well in Guilin. I highly recommend Joanna and David as tour guide & driver when in Guilin!! Two things we were surprised about: 1) I really liked the relaxed atmosphere and the courtyard of the Yangshuo hotel, but the street noise was noisy. 2) The bike ride to Moon Hill took awhile to get used to. The traffic was hectic with other biking tourists, scooters, pedestrians, trucks, cars, exhausts ... but we had FUN. Just took some getting used to. The bikes were in poor condition. Really liked Bravo Hotel, plus delicious food at the Chinese restaurant. In conclusion, each tour guide added something different to our understanding of the Chinese culture and to the sites we visited. Overall, the tour guides provided excellent information and were very accommodating and friendly which made our trip to China a very positive and rewarding experience. We would definitely consider visiting China again, perhaps northern China next time. I would definitely recommend China Highlights for customized tours. In fact, I already recommended China Highlights to another American while on the ferry on Li River in Guilin. HA! Two things that would have better prepared us mentally before going to China are 1) a warning about the smog in Shanghai, Hangzhou, and even Guilin; and 2) rather chaotic traffic, although our drivers were excellent drivers. Sunny, thank you for your part in helping to make our trip to China a memorable experience, Ana

Dear Elaine, Just to let you know that we had a great time and a most memorable visit to your great country. It was quite outstanding. The river trip was most enjoyable and great fun. The staff were, without exception, very charming and most helpful.Needless to say, the trip throught the Gorges, and lesser Gorges was a great highlight. We made many friends. At Chongqing we were met by David who was quite excellent and very funny, he took us on a very good sight-seeing trip. His English was exremely good. At Yichang we were met by Mr Tsai who was very helpful and showed us some of the sights. We much enjoyed Xian and all of the ancient sites and museums which were very good. We are thinking of doing another trip, perhaps next year, when we will go to Shanghai and travel on the river to Nanjing. With warmest regards Geoffrey
The purpose of this note is to tell you how pleased I am with the support that Linda provided. She did a very professional job of looking after us. We had a most enjoyable visit. Best regards James R. McFarlane
Hello Jane I am back from my visit to China, and I have had a NICE TRIP. I already sent your questionair back, and I can tell you we enjoyed the Yangste river trip we booked via your organisation. The boat was very basic indeed, as Angela already said, but it suited perfectly in our travel itinarary, and offered good vallue for money. If we ever come back to China, we will certainly consider travelling with you again Peter Oostveen
Here are my comments about your tour and a couple of pictures. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and definately want to return. I have traveled extensively and typically don't enlist a tour guide. However, we are very glad we used your services, as we only had 6 days and wanted to maximize our travels.
Thank you again.

Dear Angela I am sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your email. Our trip to China really was so successful. Shanghai was very exciting. Talia visited Fudan University and is probably going to apply to study there next year. The guide Susie, who took us round was very good. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very interesting. We liked her very much. She really did more than was necessary to make sure everything was going well for us. We appreciated that when Arik was sick she arranged that our tour could be postponed for a day. The hotel was excellent (and the breakfast buffet was hot enough!) It had great views from the room and we could walk from the Bund and Nanjing Rd. We took the Maglev train to the airport when we left Shanghai. It was a great experience and some other visitors might enjoy it too, especially if there are children. We thought it was 40 yuan each if you had a plane ticket but it was only if it was a "paper" ticket not an eticket which we had, so we paid 50 yuan each which is a bit expensive but is good to do once and it is fast! Don't forget about the suggestion of a map of each city for your visitors ( it could be a hand drawn one) as we suggested to you. Showing tourist sites, hotels, ATMs & banks, supermarkets, markets, internet cafes, shopping areas etc So thank you again for all your help with our trip, we have many happy memories. We have recommended you and your company to our friends. Nicola.
Perfect. That is the only word to describe our China Highlights tour of Beijing, Chengde, Lhasa (with an unexpected and wonderful evening in Chengdu), Xian, and Luoyang. Absolutely every single arrangement was terrific. The guides were great, and I cannot imagine a more perfect experience. Thanks so much, and I will be a great spokesman for China Highlights! Eva I had a great first visit to China. Shanghai was vibrant, a real noodles and dollars collision of east meets west. My China Highlights tour was better than I could have hoped for. I found Yellow Mountain stunningly beautiful and Jerry was a perfect guide. My overnight train trip to Guilin was good fun and my time with Lisa on and around the Li River was also very beautiful. I realised that my trip would have been impossible without Jerry and Lisa to help. They made everything work and were friendly, helpful with excellent local knowledge. I am already advising anyone who is interested in seeing the real China to book through you.
