I wanted to write to you to tell you how much we enjoyed the trip to Guilin and Yangshuo. Our guide was "Lisa" and our driver was Mr. Bai. Both of them did an excellent job of getting us to the right places, working around the weather, and making our trip pleasurable. This was an excellent experience for us and our daughter, and I have already recommended the trip to several of my colleagues. Please convey our best wishes to Lisa and to Mr. Bai. Dr. Bruce A. Dear Paul, I just want to tell you that we had a wonderful trip in China. The local tour guides (wendy in Wuhan and Jim in Chongqing) were very nice and punctual. The service on Princess Sheena was also excellent. We may consider another trip to China next year. We would like to see Guilin, Xian, Beijing, Shanghai and perhaps even Tibet. The time is yet to be determined, but it probably will not be in the summer. It also depends on when we can get the free tickets using our frequent flyer miles. We may consider flying into Beijing and leave from Shanghai or Hong Kong. Thanks again to you and Victor for making all the arrangements. If you have a chance to visit the US please stop off to see us in Pittsburgh, Best Regards, Al and Diane
Dear Paul, We are back home safely. Many, many thanks for the very professional way you arranged our flights/hotels and transfers. Everything was exactly as specified. You, really, made this trip seamless. Will definitely recommend your organization to our friends, Cordially, Igor Rebrin
Dear Victor: This is my first day back to work. The trip in China was wonderful especially the tour at Guilin. Thank you so much! Wai Lai stays back in Hong Kong. I continued my trip to Taiwan ( my last visit was 18 years ago), I also experienced the 6.7 scale earthquake. Weather was hot, but when you saw all the smiling face around you, nothing matter any more. It is very sweet, when you soak yourself into the childhood memory. Thanks again for the wonderful trip ! Susan Li was guide to a party from England from 19th to 21st May. I wish to send you my comments on her performance. Throughout she was concerned for our welfare and did everything within her power and ability to make out visit memorable. She always arrived at our Hotel well in advance of the time for an outing and before leaving she checked the times of out next activity. Whilst in the coach, she kept us informed of the places we passed and also the activities of the local inhabitants, particularly the growing of rice crops. Also she informed us accurately of the recent social and political developments in China, especially the education of children and young persons. The boat guide gave the commentary on the Li River cruise but Susan Li's commentary through the Reed Flute Caves was wonderful. Her descriptions were clear, informative and sometimes humorous. Susan Li's English was excellent and she taught us a few phrases in Chinese. She was undoubtedly the best guide we had throughout the tour. She is an asset to the CITS and to China. I hope many more parties will have the benefit of her knowledge, charm and humour. Thank you for providing such an enthusiastic guide for our visit to Guilin. Yours truly Eric Heaf
Zhang, There is a phrase in English,"He goes the extra mile". It means that an individual goes beyond what would be usual or satisfactory to help someone or a group. You certainly did that in all ways. At times some people needed a bit more help than would be usual, you made it work and maintained a pleasant attitude. Your willingness to add the cultural aspects of life in China pleased me greatly. I was fascinated by your introduction to Chinese characters. I am pleased to have an idea that there is logic to at least the more simple ones. I have often wondered how in the world the language was composed. I appreciated your sharing your experiences with the cultural recollection with us. I will never see a bamboo plant or painting again without thinking about you and the time that you spent with "the girls" these past two weeks. I will try at home to improve my skill using the book and your examples as my guide. Thank you very much for being such a capable, willing, creative and patient interpreter of your country for us. Sincerely, Judy Lampert
Dear Sir: We have recently been on a tour of China which included your beautiful city of Guilin. Of the many stops and tours we had on our journey, my husband and I thought that Susan Li was one of the most outstanding guides we encountered. Her command of the English language was very good. She was clearly understood and expressed herself well. Her sharing of her personal experiences made a powerful impact on us. We enjoyed hearing how the people of China have lived and changed over the years. Her sense of humor added to our enjoyment of our Guilin experience. I highly recommend her. She is very competent. Sincerely Gail Kearns
Hi Paul: We are sitting in the Rosewood Café in Yangshuo catching up on email, and I thought I would send a note telling you again how much we appreciate all you've done for us. Also, just a reminder to phone Victoria on our behalf and let them know that we'll be arriving late tonight! Thanks. Linda.
Dear Victor, Christine, and Paul; I would love to send a recommendation to you for your ChinaHighlights.com web site. You have all been so terriffic in helping me in so many ways. First of all I would really like to thank you all for all of your patience in helping me to organize my recent visit to China in October. I appreciate the many e-mails and suggestions you had over revisions in my itinerary. I ended up having the most incredible time in China. Your assistance in making my travel arrangements and your recommendations on hotels and sight seeing were invaluable. I would also like to thank you for how you all made me feel so welcome when I was travelling alone, and so secure, knowing that you were always available to assist me by phone. I would also like to thank you for making the arrangements to meet up with your collegues in Suzhou who were more than helpful and kind in their assistance while I was there and for your thoughtfulness in constantly checking in with me. I also want to thank you for your heroic efforts made to get me to the airport on time when my bus was late and for your kindness in showing me around Guilin and the Crown Caves, Christine! Victor, I really must thank you for the excellent job that you have made in helping me to get such a wonderful website up and running. I have had nothing but fantastic comments from people on our website at http://www.ChinaArtTours.com . I appreciate the many updates and revisions that you have made on the site. I have experienced tremendous enthusiasm for the plans and arrangements for our art workshop/tour planned for next October, and May, July, and October 2002. I know that if the next trip is half as successful as my recent trip to China under your guidance, it will be a tremendous success. I believe that we are building the foundation for many years of visits to China, a country which I have seen through an artist's eyes that enjoy the scenic beauty of its landscape, the magnificance of its culture, and the charm and kindness of its people. Thank-you once again for all of your assistance in helping me to organize my workshop and webpage, http://www.ChinaArtTours.com . I look forward to many years of working with you. Please give out my name as reference. I would be more than delighted to recommend you to any of them as I have already been recommending people contact you about making travel arrangements to China. Yours most sincerely; Angie McIntosh
Hello Paul: Remember me? I was in Guilin, Lengshen Hot Springs and Yangchou December 9-16 with Mr. Yuan. I met you and Rachel Chin in your office and we took pictures. I was contacted by a woman in Philadelphia who wanted to know my experience with CITS. I gave her a great recommendation. Larry Manzo
