What makes Candy so special is that she quickly worked to develop a personal relationship with me so that she could understand our travel preferences and interests in visiting China. She identified some truly unique hotels, and a diverse itinerary. I felt I came to know Candy through our email contacts, and her energy and enthusiasm about our trip and her country made us that more excited about visiting China. Given the time of her email communications to me, I could see that she sometimes put in long hours, and she was always quick to reply to any question I may have. When my mother-in-law became ill and died, Candy expressed sympathy and was so helpful in giving us options regarding the non-refundable portion of our trip costs to maximize our interests in rebooking our trip in the future.
This part of the great wall has been renovated but there is also parts that are still original, which you can also climb. I recommend wearing comfortable clothes and sneakers. There's alot of steps to climb! You can go as far as you want. Just discuss with your guide on the day. I'm glad I was able to go because there were not many people and it felt like I had it all to myself.
We also appreciated very much the excursion up the Shennang river, and also the trip to the Three Gorges dam. The transfer from the Airport at Yichan city to the cruise pier was lead in an exellent way by the guide Ginger, who showed us the hightligts of Yichan (amoung others a embroidery factory) and took us to a very good restaurant in town. All for free.
China Hightlights, from the time of planning to arriving in Guangzhou has been very professional and accommodating. I'm glad my friend recommended your company to me and I will recommend it to others.
My travel to China this time has been memorable. China changed a lot since 2002. The cities are clean, people are still good and hospitable and friendly. There are many things to see in China. And I am sorry I didn't get to met some of you personally. But that's reality in life.
Would recommend China Highlights to everyone .Our experience couldn't have been betters. Had everything we asked for and more. Well planned. Driver dropped us off and picked us up at most convenient places. Lucy was with us the whole time. offering assistance when we needed it that we could have.We would ask for her again if we come back.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in China. Tracy and the driver have been very helpful and kind throughout our ture and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are now our friends.
We enjoyed our tour and thought Jonathon was an excellent guide and Frankie was also good. They really went out of their way to help us and make us feel comfortable and happy.
I sat down with another tourist and two of the minority women when my husband was approached by one of the men who looked at my husband in a curious way. Next thing he knows, the gentleman put a yellow sash around my husband's neck and put his arm around his shoulder. We took pictures and thought this was just a gesture of friendship. When my husband tried to give the sash back , the man refused and told him to keep it as a gift. Our guide Sarah was herself surprised and told us that this was a great honor and that the yellow sash, as opposed to a white one, was an even greater honor. They were also rather fascinated by my husband's hairy arms and chest - they kind of pulled at it to see if it was real! We thought that might have been the basis of their interest! Definitely an experience to remember.
Dear Delia,
We were told by someone that we HAD to have foot massages while in China. Not that I am into massages but, I must say, these are serious business in China. We tried foot massages in Beijing, Xi'an and Guilin and I can't say which was best. They were all different and they were all definitely therapeutic. Having private guides was great because we wouldn't have just walked into any ol' place with a 'massage' sign. In Beijing, two girls came to our hotel room and put our feet in plastic bags filled with water and 'herbs'. In Xi'an, we treated our guide Jing to a massage at a business while she translated what was wrong with my body - don't want to say what but reflexology was involved in my diagnosis. And the last one was in Guilin and the girls there just wanted to know if foot massage was popular in the US. Wish it was! We laughed so much with all of them and our feet were all the better for it. Cheap.
Highly recommended
