Hi Grace,
We have just returned to Brisbane Tuesday of this week after a fantastic trip. Please see my detailed comments below. In summary, we are very pleased with the China Highlights package that you put together for us – everything happened as planned and without any problems at all. Thank you particularly for arranging our 2-berth compartments on the Beijing-Xian overnight train, which we much enjoyed. We were the envy of other travellers we met on the train, who simply couldn’t get such a compartment.
Great Wall at Mutianyu; Forbidden City are the most memorable attractiond we visited. Wallace in Xian was the most outstanding tour guide. Wallace has excellent English and really went beyond what might be expected to provide a very high level of professional service. He is in our view the best of your guides that we experienced. We also most enjoyed the Xian Citylion International.
There are lots of WOWs in our tour. The Great Wall (of course!); The Lesser Three Gorges tour (transfer to smaller vessel from Yangtze Cruise ship) – the river here is much cleaner and the scenery more spectacular than on the Yangtze itself.
An evening at the Beijing Opera is not to be missed. The Xian City Wall tour was a complete and pleasant surprise for its size and construction features. A tour of the Forbidden City is not to be missed (Western clients should first see the movie “The Last Emperor” for a useful background).
Thank you very much. I would be pleased to recommend you and China Highlights as a reliable and professional tour operator.
Cheers,
David Baker, Brisbane, Australia.
Hi Rebecca,
We've finally made it back home. First day of work starts today.
We had a wonderful China trip. Yellow Mountain is the highlights. I think we all loved its natural beauty. The Great Wall would be a close second.
Our guide Nancy in Beijing did a great job, because her English was very good, she had the most agreeable disposition, and was highly flexible.
Most of the hotels and meals were up to standard, the best being the Bund Hotel in Shanghai.
Definitely the light show in Yangshuo is a WOW factory for all of us. This is NOT to be missed!
Here are my suggestions about China trip: 1) Do not travel to more than 4 cities in a two week time period. You miss some good things, and rushing about between attractions will make you more tired.. 2) Beware the pollution in cities like Beijing and Xi'an. Wear a mask. 3) Definitely see the Yellow Mountain. The natural beauty is astounding.
Absolutely, we would like to recommend your company. I already have done that, in fact.
Thanks for everything!
Earnest
Dear Michael,
Thank you four your service. It was a very well organised tour and we highly appreciated your service. Please see requested feedback below.
Guide in Xi'an who did the best: We got stuck in Xian airport as the flight, booked by China Highlights was canceled and thousands of people were standed at the aiport. We had to fear that we would not make it to Beijing. Only through is energy and commitment we manged to got on board another plane and we flew to Beijing with a 3.5 hours delay only. Well job done!
Pan XiaoYi, the tour guide in Shanghai -> Outstanding English, very customer and job focused, very flexible.
All the restaurants and meals were up to standard. The best food had the restaurant in Xian (but place of heavy smokers), the best place was the restaurant in Shanghai in Yu Garden (non smoking room, nice view, nice room)
when traveling beginning of November to Xian be prepared to get snow and cold weather = long underware, cap, scarve and gloves as well as boots are a must!
Regards from a typical autumn day in Switzerland (windy, rainy, 11°C)

Hi Candy,
When we first made the decision to travel to China during our 4 week holiday we spent many hours researching and asking advice from people who had already been on holiday in this area. As we heard some of the stories about getting lost, language barrier problems and problems with incorrect information received we became increasingly interested in an organized tour. China Highlights seemed to stand out from other enquiries that we made via the Internet.
In particular we were impressed with your prompt replies every time we emailed. Nothing was a problem and they were flexible on the arrangements we wanted to make. Our holiday went well from the moment we arrived in the great city of Beijing and were greeted by our first tour guide Johnny.
Every city we visited holds a special memory for us. Standing on The Great Wall of China was a dream come true. As we began to realise the sheer size of China, the immense population, and the language barrier we became very grateful that there was always someone in control of our arrangements. We believe it enabled us to relax and enjoy every special moment without any stress. By the time we left Shanghai 14 days later we felt very satisfied that we had managed to see all of the main tourist attractions that time allowed on the tour that we had chosen. Every detail of our tour went without a single hitch. We would not hesitate to recommend China Highlights for anyone wishing to travel through China. Their attention to detail is outstanding and the guides in each city are well trained and informative. Happy travels and good luck.

Hi Jean,
It was nice to meet you.
We enjoyed the tour to Xi'an and Guilin and the most memorable attractions I think are Bike Tour in Yangshuo and the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an.
Guide in Guilin, Wei - was very attentive to our needs - bringing us water on the tours, etc. Hotels were okay - would have liked softer mattresses. Meals were good except for breakfast at the hotel in Yangshuo.
From the tour, I have some tips for travel to China. They may be useful for other tourists:
Leave lots of time for travel as there is a lot of traffic and people
Find time to explore yourself - don't always rely on the guide
Stay away from anyone who comes up to you offering anything
ALWAYS barter - it never hurts to ask - be prepared to walk away at least 5 times in a transaction.
Regards,
Duke
Hi Sunny,
Thanks again for another terrific China Highlights tour. The four of us had a great time, and having a guide and driver at every stop makes the travel very easy. We will take more trips with China Highlights and will recommend your company to others.
Our comments are below:
Jerry (Xu Junjie) in Beijing the most outstanding tour guide.
The accomodations were all great (even the Victoria Queen boat - we were upgraded to suites). The food was also great everywhere we ate. There was never a time where the four of us did not eat well.
The Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors are the big 'WOW' attractions. Going through the Three Georges Dam ship locks was interesting. For small 'WOW' was the Huguang Guild tour in Chongqing, and the Yichang pick-up and information.
This was our second tour with China Highlights and it was just as great as the first. Of course the attractions are worth seeing, but the tour guides, drivers, and local guides have all been friendly and informative.
Some suggestions for your future clients:
Wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of walking and stairs. Nothing strenuous, unless you walk a long way on the Great Wall, but you walk a lot.

Good Morning Sunny;
I have just arrived home and found your questionnaire.
The most memoriable attractions is the Forbidden City. Jolin is easy to get along with and flexible to my needs. Food was excellent. All places that we went were WOW. The Birds Nest was my biggest WOW.
I would recommend your services to all my fellow travelers. We have already past your name on to some friends.
Many thanks for a wonder trip and the memorable experiences

Hi Sunny,
I think the most impressive location are the terraced rice field at Longsheng. As to the tour guide, no hesitation to say that Lily Guo was my preferred guide. She really answer the most of my request before I have time to ask.
All the hotels was OK. About meals as I understand Guanxi is richer than Guizhou so also the meals were better…
In this space I try to suggest few activities I judge can add value to your already very good offer.
1. About Chinese language: in my experience, western people has a very little understanding of your language, so any activity addressed to a better understanding I think can be appreciated from a lot of persons. The most simple question, as a student of Chinese language, I heard from my friends or colleagues was: How Chinese children can memorize so many characters? I think some kind of small example material or something like a visit to a school to answer the question can be appreciated.
2. Especially in this experience I can see how many development are “in progress” in China: new motorway, railway, bridges, etc. I think that more explication, some specific visit and, if possible, some documentation material, can be appreciate by western travelers.
3. About the Chinese meals, I think they are a non secondary element of Chinese culture. So I think the choice of meals and the explanation of them can be an occasion of understanding and memorization. For example I remember a lot of dishes I really appreciate but now I have just a generic memory: I can’t remember the name of the dish and theirs most important ingredients.
I understand this few notes can be generic so if you are interested in a more detailed description, let me know.
Best regards

Sunny,
Just wanted to write to you about your tour guide Jeff in Beijing. All I can say is fabulous!! We have been on many tours over the years and have had many guides , and by far Jeff exceeds all expectations when it comes to giving a good day's tour. Always prompt, energetic, fun and full of life. English command excellent. He made our stay in Beijing a memorable one that we will never forget. We may forget some of the temples and such, but will always remember Jeff, our tour guide, who made each day fun and exciting and informative. I don't know what else I can say about him, except, next time we get to Beijing, you can be sure we will ask for Jeff!!
The driver, whoes name I do not know, was also excellent! Very courteous and always had the car ready in the right spot at the right time. Jeff also was great at taking photos of myself and wife. We really appreciate that because it is hard to get your photos together. To end, Jeff is a huge asset to your company and is one of a kind when it comes to tour guides and one of a kind when it comes to people themselves. Don't lose this guy as your tour guide in Beijing!! P.S Please write me back as to you have received this letter. Thank you again for supplying such a great guy in Jeff!!
Sincerely,
Scott and Linda
Dear Michael;
