We are committed to giving our customers an authentic China experience not just something staged for tourists. Read feedback written by our customers about their experiences in China after they have returned home. These include the ratings and comments on attractions, guides, activities, hotels and food. Would you like to look at the tours that 1340 previous customer have recommended?
Dear Karen, We want to tell you again how much we enjoyed our trip and how much we appreciate the work you did to make it so fabulous. China is a fascinating country and we believe the tour you put together for us was exceptional in helping us understand the culture and people. Based on your questions, here is our feedback and recommendations. I think overall we liked not being in a large group. The guides and personalization of the tour were very important to us. We like to ask a lot of questions and learn a lot of detail about what we see and it is hard to receive this in groups. We also liked the flexibility of the guides who were very helpful in accommodating changes we wanted to the schedule. Again, a group tour would not be able to be as flexible. In other words, the personal attention was very nice. We really enjoyed the food in local restaurants that were not the typical tourist restaurants where we could have local specialties.
Sunny,
The trip was awesome. I already suggested few of my friends that if they are going to do a trip in china, they can contact you guys. if you would love to, I can send you some pictures later. Guilin and yangshuo has the best view, tibet has the best culture, xi'an has the best hotel, and beijing is good for shopping. Jay and I enjoyed a lot. He said if we both have time, we may travel to china again, but next time, we will visit difference places.
We like the mountain view, and we love the biking part as well. The weather in guilin is just perfect. warm but not hot. the best part of the trip for us would be in yangshuo. I felt like I was in the heaven. You can see the farm, mountains in the daytime, and you are back to the city at night since there are tens of club and pub waiting for you at western street. if you love shopping, you can also find lots of unique stuff. we really enjoy the bargarning. I almost forgot the show, the Yinxiang is really really good. We strongly suggest people to go and watch that show. There are not many chance in one's life to see a show like that. Doesn't matter if it is your first time to china, as long as you like the western chinese food back to your home, you will really enjoy the really chinese food in china. they ARE GOOD!!!! one last thing to remind people is if they are going on a trip as big as me, they have to bring a nice camera, not the one on the cellphone.
Dear Eva We wanted to thank you for arranging our trip. Everything worked out perfectly, there were no problems with any of the travel arrangements. The hotel accomodations were great and the guides were informative and very helpful. The guides' English was excellent in all cases, and their knowledge about local history and culture was very good to excellent. We especially liked the flexibility the private tour gave allowing the guide to change or make suggestions when we had extra time or elected to substitute a different activity in the itinerary. We would highly recommend the private tour as a means of seeing the most sites with the most flexibility-absolutely the best part of the tour. There were so many memorable sites-the Great wall-especially the more remote area we visited, the terracotta soldiers in Xi'an, the Leshan Buddha and Dazu were spectacular-not to be missed, the medicine market in Chengdu was fascinating, the acrobatic show in Shanghai was amazing. I don't think we would change a thing in the two weeks we were there. The four of us agreed that this trip was the among the very best we have taken. We can highly recommend your services without reservations. Sincerely; Mira and Kenneth McHenr
Eva: Once again thank you for all your help and our trip was truly fantasic. I will also send some pictures later of the trip that you might enjoy. Perhaps you could forward them to our guides later. Thank again for making our trip something to remember for a lifetime. The trip was done with a personal guide and driver. I was not sure what a personal tour meant when I booked the tour. I think you should make sure you tell the people booking tours that they will have a driver and a guide with no other people on the tour. This is very important because we were able to spend as much time as we wanted on every part of the tour. IT WAS FANTASTIC!. Having water along with the tours was very nice and a pleasure. We very much enjoyed both the Li River Cruise and the Great wall (which we went to by ourselves). These were the high points in our visit to China. The Dumpling dinner was also very good. Hello Morgen, We are now at home in New Zealand & have recovered from our jetlag. Peter & I would like to say thankyou very much for making our trip to China even more memorable by China Highlights wonderful service. The guides were excellent & we felt very safe & cared for in their hands. Apart from the fantastic things we have seen & the food we have eaten, the best thing was knowing that everything was taken care of by China Highlights for us. We knew that if we wanted to change anything , we could if it was possible. I feel that the writeup in the information data E-mailed to us about the SHANGHAI URBAN PLANNING EXHIBITION HALL did not do the place justice. We did not want to go there originally but our guide Jeffray encouraged us & it was a wonderfully informative adventure to be there. We could have spent more time. I will be using your services again when we next decide to come to China. Thankyou again Morgen. Helen Anderson
Dear Morgen, My husband and I were very satisfied with the service afforded us during our vacation. The hotels were good quality and the trip down the Yantze was spectacular. The guides were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. They were courteous and spoke English that we had no trouble in communicating. They were also flexible when we wanted a change of itinerary such as the changes we made in Shanghai. The guide in Xian was most helpful when my husband needed medical attention. I would recommend your travel service to anyone traveling to China. The meals were good in all locations and the cruise line was exceptional. We took the option of a more expensive cabin on the cruise and were glad that we did. The flights within China were all on time and comfortable. The Kungfu show in Beijing was spectacular and on the advice of the guide we also went to the acrobatic show in Beijing which was exciting and a highlight of the trip. I would suggest including the Devlopment Museum in Shanghai. It is located on the lower level of the TV tower and is a beautiful museum and I think a most on a trip to Shanghai. The trip to the Hutong in beijing was most interesting and the meal in a private home was very nice. It was enjoyable to meet a local family. The only disappointment in the entire trip was the weather. We did not see the sun for the entire trip, but this was something you had no control over. If I were to return to China in the future, I would book the arrangements through your company. Barbara and Peter Vaka
Dear Ryan, I would like to personally thank you for the organization of our trip to China. The trip was very well organized. I really appreciate your help and efficiency with all the adjustments you had to make during our travel. I was very impressed with China and loved the beauty of the country. I would love to come back to China with my friends and family. Krystyna, of course was a great asset to have, but your guides were extremely helpful.I have the great memories. Best regards Zofia Rek
Dear Elaine, It was a wonderful trip. We apreciated so much China Highlights contribution. We had special moments in Beijing, specially because of your guide tour Tracy. She's a very special girl and knows a lot about China. We really enjoyed the time we spent with her. Congratulations, she's a very good guide. I don't have the pictures we've taken with her in my computer, but as soon as I get them, it will be my pleasure sendind it to you. Thank you again and we will certainly recommend China Highlights. Best wishes, Silvia
Dear Sunny, Please apologize for not answering earlier but I had to go through all the workload in the office first. Holiday is over - unfortunately! First of all we had a great time in China thanks to your fantastic organisation. We really enjoyed every single minute and will certainly come back to see more of China. Now to answer your questions: The best thing is hard to say-I think the best thing is that we have choosen CHT to arrange our trip. As we are very experienced independent travellers (we were backpackers for many years also in China in 1989) and don't like to be a member of a tour group it was very important to us to get some time for us. We just love to walk in the streets and take part of the daily life wherever in the world we are. One reason why we have choosen CHT is that for each destination you get a new guide. Like that we had the chance to get know different people from different ages and hear different opinions. Talking to our different guides and learning a lot about China was extremely interesting for us. All of our guides were very well educated, very helpfull and we learned a lot about the different destinations. Most of our Guides also tried to show us the utmost they could, e.g. with Mr. Tong in Bejing we visited also one of the Ming Tombs on our own request. Jason let us enjoy the Chinese Tea Ceremony as we had some time left because our plane from the Yellow Mountains to Shanghai left much later than scheduled. We appreciated that very much. The hotels you have choosen were great. We especially loved the Peninsula in Beijing - a great place to be after a long journey - and the Sheraton in Suzhou. We also can very much recommend the Marriott in Sanya for having a couple of wonderful days on the sandy beach. Therefore we were very happy to have CHT as our travel agent. All the shows we had in our programm we terrific and shouldn't be missed. The acrobatic show in Shanghai is absolutely outstanding. There is just one more to add. On our Boattrip from Guilin to Yangshuo we heared from Americans about the light show in Yangshou. Of course we didn't want to miss that one. Our wonderful guide Ralph could make the impossible possible and found some tickets for us even the show was sold out. In Yangshuo we did a one hour rafting on the bamboo raft. That was very relaxing and enjoyable and could be added in the programm for people who are interested in. Another suggestion is the trip to the rice terraces about 2 hours drive from Guilin. Thanks again for helping us to spend such fantastic holidays. Warm regards, Daniela
Sunny Apologies for taking so long to respond to your request for feedback. Responses to you questions are as follows: There are a large number of things which both my wife and I enjoyed about our visit to Beijing and it is had to decide exactly which was best. I have always been quite interested in history and the wealth of historical sites in and around Beijing are what attracted us to visiting Bejing in the first instance. However I think the single thing which I found most interesting about visiting Bejing was the very different culture which we encountered i.e. China is a much different culture to Australia or New Zealand which are comparatively young countries historically speaking and it was this difference in so many aspects of day to day activities ,food, dress, customs, large population density etc which while I was aware of had not really appreciated until we visited. Plus we found Beijing to be a very appealing city with wide streets and plenty of parks and trees creates the impression that this would be a very pleasant city to live in. Crystal almost had me convinced to try eating a scorpion at the night markets however I ran out of courage at the time. Our guide (Crystal) was very helpful and informative and knew a great deal about all the sites which we visited, however I found that at the Forbidden City as this is such a large site I found myself wishing I had a brief map so that I could locate myself within the complex. These may have been available at one of the merchandising places but I never thought to ask at the time. I really enjoyed all the historical sites that we visited especially The Temple of Heaven, The Summer Palace and the Great Wall. I think in hindsight we made a very good decision to take a private tour especially as we had young children and this may have proved difficult in a larger group. Regards Grant Faulkner
