Hi Karen
Thank you so much for your attention and assistance before & during our tour, There are many memorable stops, but i think the Great Wall should stand out.
We had a wonderful time with our guide fantastic Eileen in Beijing (we could not have hoped for a better guide) and will highly recommend her and your company to any friends who may travel to China in the future.
For your information, visitors coming to China should wear comfortable shoese, drik lots of water and better to read about some of the history before arriving. Also do not miss the big ticket attactions in Beijng, only go to the art district if you are "into" art.
Finally, if any of your clients wish to speak with your previous clients, please feel free to contact me, i am glad to tell him /her how great time we had with China Highlights this time.
Thanks again,
Martin
Dear Eva,
sorry, that it took so long to get back to you.
it was so nice meeting you in person. For our next trip to China we will certainly contact you and let China Highlights take care of us again.
I think we answered most of the questions in the Evaluation form when we met with you in Guilin, but I'll add a few comments to the questions.
1) I cannot give you an example of the most memorable attraction as the whole trip was most memorable. The program that you and China Highlights put together for us was absolutely fabulous and extremely well organized. The itinerary was very interesting and we could fully concentrate on what we were seeing and experiencing while our guides and drivers did their best to make our trip extremely enjoyable.
2) All the guides that you provided were outstanding: Jeff in Beijing taught us about language, culture and daily life in China and was extremely likeable and entertaining, we had a wonderful time with him. Jelly in Datong was cute and always ready to answer our questions. Dawny in Luoyang was very intelligent and extremely knowledgeable in Chinese history and culture, old and new, very, very interesting. Susan in Xian took excellent care of us, she was very charming and lovable. She made sure we saw everything we were interested in in the beautiful city of her's, Xian. Lola in Guilin was very easy to get along and very cute. She checked carefully that everything was to our liking, from the hotel room to every detail of our tour, she went out of her way to please and help us. We were in very good hands.
3) The hotels were excellent. The most beautiful one was the Sofitel in Xian, location, service, breakfast were excellent. The least favorite hotel was the Yungang in Datong. The location was not very good, too far from the center. The restaurants for lunch were mostly very good, except for the meal we had on the Li river boat. That meal was not good.
If we asked the guides for dinner restaurants the suggestions were always excellent.
4) We definitely recommend China Highlights to all our friends, in fact we already started doing that. We think your service is absolutely outstanding.
5) Our time in China was superb. The trip surpassed our expectations by far. We truly hope to come back to China in the near future and to see more of this fascinating country. Suggestions for other travelers are, not to miss the Yungang Grottoes and the Hanging Temples near Datong.
6) If needed I agree that you provide serious, potential customers with my e mail address: margmey@hotmail.com
Sincerely, Margrit Meyer
Dear Candy,
it was good meeting the charming, eloquent Chinsese travel agent, who organized our voyage! Enclosed please find a photo and the feedback. Thanks again for organizing this great journey for us. The most memorable attraction I took were the hike beside Li River from Yangdi to Xingping, the Yangshuo show and the Walking on Huang Shan. Mark in Guilin was our best guide. He spoke good English, he liked his job, was interested in his clients, and he was well informed. Pretty much all the hotels were up to standard. Yes,I would recommend China Highlights to my friends or colleagues, CH and Candy Wei were very professionel.
Best wishes,
Christof
Dear Virginia,
I have been meaning to write you for some time now to let you know how much we enjoyed our tour with China Highlights. Everything ran like clockwork with guides always prompt and efficiently getting us to our destinations. Eileen in Beijing was a delight; Louis in Xi'an was the most intellectually curious & eager to learn about the Bahamas and new English words & expressions; Tony in Guilin was eager to teach us about his culture, reciting a poem, singing a song, & demonstrating Tai Chi for us, but his pronunciation was a bit difficult to understand (he gave me a gift of two ethnic dolls for my birthday which was very sweet of him); and Michael in Shanghai was very accommodating, spoke excellent English and was more mature than the others. All in all, we had a wonderful experience, learned much about your country, found the people friendly & polite, and the hotels were first class. We have come home with wonderful memories & lots of photographs!
The only negative things were not getting to meet you in Guilin and not having enough free time to stroll around on our own in the cities. The days were long and a bit tiring for us "old" folks. But we wanted to "see it all"--and we did! For me, the highlights were the Terra Cotta Warriors & the Li River cruise.
Thank you for arranging such a fine tour for us.
Sincerely,
Joan
Dear Sunny,
Our tour of China was indeed a highlight.
in fact, I would say, one of the highlights of our lives.
My husband and I were able to spend some quality time with our adult son, enjoying your beautiful country and its charming and hospitable people. We saw many wonderful places, and enjoyed some fabulous Chinese food. We even got to be pretty adept at using chopsticks! We particularly enjoyed having our trip customized to suit our particular needs and interests. The flexibility allowed us to spend extra time in some places, such as the zoo and Safari Park in Guanzhou, and the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. We were also to able visit some places that were not scheduled. The best of these was the tea plantation and research institute in Guilin and also the tram ride to the top of the mountain in Guilin. We also had a splendid time at the Impressions musical drama in Guilin. Our son is a professional photographer and he took more than 2000 pictures of the Li River and the karst mountains.
Our guides, Eve and Lola, were delightful young women who made the trip fun and interesting. After spending a few days with them, we felt as though we had made new friends, and I wish them both well. Our drivers were always available and never failed to meet us with a fresh bottle of cold water and an air conditioned ride. We experienced no problems, whatsoever. The train rides were an adventure, and I must say that ten hours in a soft sleeper is preferable, any day, to ten hours on a plane! Clean and very comfortable, and the train rocked us to sleep. We enjoyed shopping and bought many beautiful things, but there was never any pressure to buy. The hotel accommodations were very acceptable, particularly the hotel in Yangshou.
Please be assured that the next time we travel in China, we will contact China Highlights. There are many more parts of the country that I want to see. Blessings on you and your staff, and all the good people who made our trip so enjoyable.
Many thanks,
Miriam, Tom, and David
Dear Jean,
We returned from our trip yesterday and I take this opportunity to thank you all for making this trip a memorable
one. The tour was meticulously arranged and all your guides as well as the drivers were very good. But a special
mention must be made of Laura, our guide at Beijing who was really superb in her approach to us and made us feel
at home and at ease. The way she helped us at Beijing station,is something we will never forget. She even talked to
you and you were kind enough to ensure the Guide's presence at Xian station at 5.22 AM.
All in all, a very good faultless arrangement and I wish all the very best to China Highlights in all their future endeavours.
On personal front, we were very pleased to meet you albeit only for a couple of minutes and were pleasantly surprised
to meet a young girl rather than an older person, as we were expecting, looking at the experience and maturity that you
displayed for organising our trip.
I wish you all the very best.

Sunny, We want to say a big thank you to you , the guides and everyone at China Highlights. We had a wonderful time. We got back to the UK on Thursday evening our time and are adjusting to the time difference and missing China! We did complete the questionnaires but in addition I will put together some more detailed comments about our time in China; virtually all positive ! There were a few things where we could make some suggestions that may help you and future guests. One thing I wanted to highlight was the show in Guilin. It was an incredible experience not just because of the show but you providing the President seats where we were treated so well ; including the staff bowing to us as we left! So thanks for this it must have cost more the money we saved by our changed agenda at the Great Wall! So again many thanks for everything! China was wonderful and your service superb. Regards Graham
Dear Karen,
I have finished the trip you organized and i am at Beijing now, which just fabulous and as a City I thought it was stunning - I will definitely visit it again!
I have taken a 20-day trip, I think every procince and city had its attraction and to be honest i can not pick as each one wa different and had its own charm or interest. But all guides were pleasant and polite, perhaps Lily in Guilin was the best, she was flexible, spoke good English and oput in just that little bit more effort in assisting me.
Hotels are each city with different comments, the best was Gyal Thang Dzong Hotel in Zhongdian--they staffs were very pleasant and the food there was excellent, The tibet Chengdu was the most up to date with all facilities. While the worst hotel was the one at Luoyang--its bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom had smells and the breakfast was very poor, the rest are clear and modernised, but some needed some refurbishment.
I also would like to suggest all of your protetiel clients to go in China a thetre for an opera Show and the impression of Liusanjie can not be missed.
Poeple shuold only attempt the cycleing trip if there are regular cyclists: i saw several people struggling in the heat on the paddy fields--and i used a golf cart wihch was very comfortable.
Travelers, especially single or couples should understand the train travel with regards to soft sleepers and know they may have to share with other poepke as the system is very different to western trains.
Finally thanks for everything and i will recommend you and your company for sure.
Susan
Dear Sunny,
It was a great pleasure to meet you too. We had a truly wonderful trip, and here are a few of our thoughts.
Before we left our friends thought we were brave to go to China at our age, but the trip suggested and organised by China Highlights removed any concerns about that and the Chinese peoples reverence of healthy old age made it a positive factor.Nobody who likes travel should let age be a concern in China!
There are many wonderful sights and different peoples to experience as our photos show.
The comfort of travel when every arrival and departure from the airports used we were met and seen off by English speaking, very charming and knowledgeable guides and a comfortable car and driver made it effortless.
We appreciated not being in a large group and therefor more flexible in our arrangements. Cycling for us was a no-no as was our proposed trip to Lhassa(too high at 14000 ft) but were comfortable at the lovely old town of Lijiang at 8000 ft. We lost count of the number of times people wanted to take photos of or touch us.We think longevity was their aim.
The attempt to compensate from our withdrawing from the trip to Lhassa with a trip to Xitang was not entirely successful or sufficient compensation but the extra time with Lemon was a great pleasure.
The Hotels were universally good and well chosen and respected China Highlights. The guides were a great joy and were fun to be with, more like friends.
We would recommend Sunny Xie and China Highlights to anyone who wants to go to China. We loved it!!!
Should you wish to use any of our photos, please ask about which.
With all best wishes.
Milly and Les Hart
Dear Karen,
Both me and Alex have returned home smoothly. Everything for our China tour works well, but You yourself were great Karen from our first contact to today. Here i am happy to share some details with you.
I enjoyed the The Great Wall very much, and your suggestion 1-2 hours on Great Wall is far too little. We took 4 hours on at the end.
All of your guides are good, Marry at Shanghai was the most personable and fun to be with. Her knowledge of the palces we visited seemed thorough and she was flexible with changes we wanted to make. Eileen in Xian seemed to have the greatest knowledge of the sights we saw and did not appear to be speaking a memorized script. Eileen II in Bejing seemed the least experienced and though she did an adequate job did seem more scripted than the others.
All of the hotels are good, the best one is in Shanghai (Hyatt), and they upgraded us to a small suite as a courtesy. Xian also of 4 star standard. Both had great breakfasts. Beijing one was more a 3 star hotel and judged from that perspective was fine. Breakfast was less lavish, and personel had less proficinet ENglish than the others. On the other hand they had free internet which was big plus. Small things like not changing the soap every day reduced it from 4 star to 3 - - but appreiiated their allowing late checkout.
All lunches were good. Seemed a little cheap that the last two charged for a second coca cola.
Overall, it was a memerable trip, and i will refer you and China Highlights to my friends absolutely. Thanks again!
Karen
