Dear Elaine,
The Great Wall was beautiful, especially with the change of colors of the leaves. Guilin was our biggest surprise, as we did not expect the beauty of the area or the great smell of the trees. Both guides were very good. I think we liked Ann a little bit more because she had a warmer personality.
The hotels were very good and so were the restaurants. Our only comments regarding restaurants is that - when selecting a fixed menu dinner/lunch - it needs to match the food likes and dislikes of the people. In the beginning, many of our dishes were not things that we wanted to eat. After we spoke to our guides about this, then things changed and we started enjoying our lunches/dinners much more. The lunch at the rice terraces was one of the best we had on the trip.
All the things we did we enjoyed very much and would highly recommend to anyone else. We wish we had more time, so we could see more and not be so much in a rush.
Best wishes
Dear Elaine,
Thanks for organizing the tour for us.Public prayer and festival in kashgar day after Ramadan; Kashgar animnal market; mutianyu great wall; shanghai and shanxii museums were the most memorable attractions in our trip.
Our guides,Raiyse and Ivy; Both were intelligent, organized honest and open minded. In my opinions, the Central hotel in Shanghai was outstanding and the Novitel in Beijing was very good. The other hotels were adequate. Meals were variable-generally good Wieghur meals on the Silk Road. Acrobats were good but other evening attractions not worthwhile; Might have skipped Turpan as we had very busy trip. In 2 weeks we took 7 internal airline flights and all were excellent and uniformly on time.
Best wishes,
Dearest Angela,
I would like to thank you sincerely for a lifetime tour in China with China Highlights. I loved every location I visited in the carefully chosen itinerary made by your company, and despite the extensive grounds we covered in a short period of time, I know there is so much more to your beautiful country. Your guides were all superb in Beijing, Xian, Guilin and Shaghai. All four guides were friendly, well-informed, and highly organized.
They helped me to feel at home even though I was all alone and millions of miles away from home. A special thank you to Nancy, Chian, Ivy, and , who accompanied me on all tours in China. (Grateful if you can cc them on this e-mail) Guilin was the most beautiful city on my tour. The trip down Li River was breathtaking. I honestly felt I was taking a trip to heaven! And the pictures I took look like something in a fairy tale book.
I loved my hotel bedroom by the riverside in Guilin. I have lived in Africa, Europe and the Middle East and traveled widely, but I have never felt the serenity beauty and magic of Guilin in any other city in the world. I would recommend your city to anyone hungry for a change in life and eager to live in peace and serenity for a few months. There is a magic in Guilin that is so energizing for the spirit. I thank you sincerely for advising me to take a tour that covers your city. Thank you also for the wonderful dinner you invited to whilst I was in Guilin. I never thought I would happily eat Chinese food for more than a week but the food was so good, I dont like Chinese restaurants in my country anymore!:)
I would certainly recommend your company to family friends and colleagues. You do not sell tours. You sell an experience that changes your customers, opens their eyes to a new culture and civilization, and makes them hungry to come back. God Bless you all.
Best Wishes

Dear Cheryl,
We are now back home after a wonderful holiday in China. The cruise was very enjoyable. I think it would have been much more spectacular before the water level was raised, but it was still great and going through the locks was very interesting. It was raining or cloudy during most of the cruise so our photos are rather mist shrouded, however I have attached two I took in Fengdu - the Ghost city.
Our guide in Yichang was very helpful. He managed to book us a hotel and get us on a bus to Wuhan in good time, as well as taking us to a very good restaurant for lunch. We did not realise how difficult travelling on our own would be in China. On our next trip we will make much more use of tours. That will be a few years away though! Thanks for organising our tour Cheryl.
Best wishes,
Marion and Steve Edbrooke
Dear Eva,
We wanted to stop in and meet you to thank you for all the wonderful help in planning our trip but time did not allow us to do so. Please know we thought your organization, response time to our questions and handling of any details we asked of you were excellent. Thanks so much. The visit to the ethnic tribes was our most memorable - not only the tribes themselves but the ride through the countryside was indeed a highlight into Chinese rural life. Guides are helpful. Both Lily and Mr. Chin were wonderful to us. Lily went out of her way to take care of us, to be certain we were comfortable and got to see what we wanted. She certainly made a difference for us.
The hotels were fine; one step above a McDonald's we thought. We would have preferred paying a bit more money if we could have eaten at a better restaurant. You may consider giving customers a choice/option. China Highlights would definitely be recommended to any of our friends anticipating a trip to China.
We were mesmerized by China and the culture. We knew this was going to be a different kind of trip, one where we would be introduced to a culture so vastly different from ours but we never expected to enjoy it so much.
Best Wishes,
Dear Cheryl,
We are now home in Australia after having completed a fantastic holiday in China. We want to thankyou for the wonderful tour that you organised for us as it all went like clockwork and exceeded our expectations. From that moment on we could not have been happier with the tour guides and the arrangements you had made for us. The accommodation met and exceeded our expectations, the tour guides were a delight to be with and the drivers instilled real confidence in what to us seemed conditions. We have been telling friends if they are contemplating a tour to China this is definitely the way to go as it gives real flexibility.
Regards,
Dear Eva Wang!
It has been already a little more than a month that I came back home from Finland. We were with Tytti Geitel your customers during our China trip. I want to thank you and your Company of the excellent service you supplied us with, that made possible our journey in China. It is a long way from China to Argentina, where I live. Tytti lives in Finland and we met for many many years ago at school in Finland. Since then, we have been travelling around the world quite often. Well, this is to thank you very very much and I assure you,I will recommend any friend of mine travelling to China, China Highlights and Eva there.
Good luck!

Dear Karen,
We are back in the US after a wonderful trip in your country. Thank you again for all the work you put into making it happen and go so very well. All the arrangements went off flawlessly and we had a wonderful time. All the guides which were provided were knowledgeable and very helpful. The guide in Chongqing managed to get us to the boat in fine time and tried to provide some information about the city as well. There are so many things we would like to come back and see more thoroughly. If and when we do that we will certainly contact you. I would be very pleased to do that. Again, thank you for all your help and for enabling us to have such a wonderful trip. We will be very interested to watch China as it continues to grow, using what we have learned during our trip as background and better understanding.
Best regards,

Dear Jean,
We found sailing down the Yangtse was very relaxing and interesting - especially the shore excursions - they were great. I had previously visited the Great Wall, but it is certainly a memorable site. While it was not part of your tour the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace in Beijing are impressive.
In China, Kiven, John and Kitty were all very good. John had a greater understanding of the subtleties of the English language, but all were helpful, thoughtful and attentive. Kiven took us to Jade and Cloisonné factories in Beijing as well as to tea tasting. John arranged for us to visit the Stillwell Museum in Chongqing, and Kitty arranged for lunch and for a visit to the Relics of the Three Gorges Dam in Yichang. In Tibet Dolma was very responsive to our need to change my itinerary as I was not well enough to travel to a higher altitude. She took us to the bank and supermarket and made sure we were okay. All guides met us with their drivers and ensured that we had the right tickets and were put on the right train or boat. The drivers of all the vehicles drove safely and their vehicles were clean and comfortable.
The Redwall Hotel Beijing was fine, everything worked and was clean - the breakfasts were good. It was well situated near the Forbidden City and we could get cheap meals in the nearby market street. The Xiongbala Hotel room in Lhasa was fine too. Clean and comfortable and adjacent to the Barkhov and Jokhang Temple in the Tibetan quarter of Lhasa. Breakfasts were adequate, if one didn't get there early there were limited options and the food was not kept properly warm. I understand the accommodation at the hotel in Shigatse, Tibet was very spacious. Breakfast was fine (better the Xionbala)
The Bell Tower Hotel, Xian was very nice, with a higher standard of accommodation and it was noticeable - wider range of television channels, stylish, better maintained and more modern decor. Breakfast buffet with more western type choices. Well positioned near the Bell Tower and the Moslem quarter. The lunches with the tours - we had lunch at the Jade factory in Beijing - this was tasty and extensive - the set menu was fine. Lunch in Chongqing at the 4 star hotel was very tasty and enjoyable. In Yichang we asked Kitty to find us a restaurant for lunch and she ordered for us - this was also very good (not part of the tour package). In Lhasa the food at the restaurant near Barkhov was satisfactory. The meals on the boat the Zhao Jun were very good with many choices and variety. We were also provided with a western breakfast each morning which was very substantial.
Thanks again
Dear Karen,
Thanks for your organizing of our comfortable trip in China. The weather was nice. The restaurants our guide selected were great and the food in this regions is very enjoyable We were surprised with how high we were, 2700 to 3400 meters, and we didn't feel any elevation effects. The hotel was nice. Being in the old town allowed us to walk around. We did learn about large groups as those European foreigners ate everything in sight for breakfast, but the staff replenished it. The staff was very nice and helpful. The guide and driver were very professional and attentive to making sure our needs were meett. Barb would like to go back to that area and see more things. I am always interested in historical sites and anything related to the Flying Tigers which were in this area of China during the Second World War. Oh yes and the guide even took us out to lunch on the last day for the local special noodles before we left for the airport. Now we need to plan for May holiday.
Thanks,
John
