While the Panda reserves are certainly the best known attraction in the area, there are several other day trips that are good as well. Beyond the Pandas, Chengdu is also known for it's food - the Sichuan province where it's located has some of the spiciest food in all of China. Definitely take the time to enjoy a few good meals but be prepared for the peppers!
I have no suggestions but good things to say about China Highlights. It is always scary when you are dealing with an unknown company located in a far away country. Nancy, you were very helpful and professional and I would certainly not hesitate to recommend you and the company to anyone.It was so wonderful to have someone meet us at the airports, transport us to our hotels, help us check in, help us check in at the airports when we were leaving, give us information about things to see and how to get there on the days that we did not have guides. I would definitely recommend a small group tour such as we did to be able to see so many things and be able to ask questions and get answers.
The trip worked out well, and I really appreciated the extra effort you made to deal with my last minute changes of plan. Overall I had a very enjoyable visit and would be pleased to recommend your service to others in the future.
Gerry was very punctual always, even when our friend Jurgen Weyand arrived a few hours later because of a plane delay from Tokyo.He was polite and answered every question that we had asked. When he picked us up, he was very friendly, made us feel welcomed and explained on the way to the hotel , what the buildings were and pointed us at interesting things.
Writing to say that we had a beautiful and wonderful time in Lhasa. Our guide Basang was excellent. We had the best time knowing and experiencing such a beautiful and inspiring culture as the Tibetan.

Our trip to China was great we very much enjoyed Xian with Chrystal and the final trip in Chongqing was great as we saw 7 of the 8 pandas all eating their breakfast.As regards the cruise we were fortunate with the weather which was sunshine all the time which made the trip memorable the cabin was great the tours were first class and we left with lovely memories.

The bund and the description of the architecture on both sides of the river and the beginning of the concession area in Shanghai was the most memorable attraction in Shanghai. The guide made suggestions on what to see during my stay in Beijing and what to see on return to Shanghai. definitely recommend and will use again the next time I’m in China.
