Dear Karen: Here I send you all the answers to your questions, and our feelings about the China tour. The shights we enjoyed the best are The Great Wall and Terracota Warriors. Both of them are so impressive and magnificent. We also liked a lot all the temples we could see, as the Temple of Heaven. The tour was as good as we'd expected. We enjoyed a lot in all the cities and counties we visited. The four tour guides were so professional, polite and all of them were so kindly, but we have to recognize that we had a very good time with Xin. She is a funny girl, and so lovely. During our time in China, we stayed in five hotels, and all of them were so comfortable. The best one was in Yangshuo. About the meals, We enjoyed a lot trying new dishes and flavours. The Dumpling Banquet was incredible, and the sweet and sour sauce was the best one I've ever tried.....with chiken, pork, beef, fish.... This travel has been very special for us, not only because it was our honeymoon, but also because we have learn a lot about your culture, people, local customs...and everything has been excepcional!! We had a really good time in China, and we hope we could come back again. We never forget our chinese experience. Finally, we want to thank you for your well done job, because our honeymoon has been the best one we could ever have. Thanks a lot again!! Best wishes, Karen.
Hi Karen,
We had a superb first visit to China, and were truly fascinated by almost everything we saw - thanks largely to the support and guidance of you and your team. Also, many thanks for passing the mobile phone charger onto Clive for me - it was good that everything worked - and Jade was very glad when she was finally able to charge her phone after 2 weeks and speak to her boy friend in England!!
Answers to your questions;
Sights: Everything we saw and experienced in China never ceased to amaze us at how much bigger and busier it was than we expected – nothing had prepared us for the scale of everywhere.
Most outstanding tour guide: Linda and Ricky in Beijing. Very special commendation to them both, they really spoiled us by being our first guides and every guide after that simply were'nt quite as good - although all of the guides were excellent. Ricky was the only driver who spoke any English, therefore he was the only one that we even began to converse with - which given how long we were with them all is a shame. They both represented Beijing and China superbly and put us on the right track to having the superb holiday in China that we had. Please be sure to pass on our deepest thanks and warmest regards.
Hotels and meals: Our favourite meals were in Xian and Chengdu-where the combination of ingredients and flavours worked the best. Thanks again Kevin
Dear Morgen, It was such a wonderful trip. From the point of view of organization , its hard to see how it could have been any better!. We were smoothly shunted over vast distances, always finding a friendly face at the airport to greet us. The local guides ranged from the merely "very good" to excellent. When we ran into some minor problems or when we wanted to make some small changes to our programme, your response was exemplary. In fact we found the overall level of cooperation excellent. Barbara was very impressed with the interaction with Morgen, even before the trip began. In working out our itinerary , Morgen provided many helpful suggestions and advice. The result was an intinerary with no regrets. ( Except that China is so vast and diverse that this trip was necessarily restricted to the "highlights" . ) For us, the "semi-guided" option was just right. No trips in large buses with crowds of people. Usually there were only two of us in a van or car. I have to say that I found Tibet absolutely fascinating. And we had the absolute best guide. Just the two of us in a nice little van.... driving wherever we wanted to go. Of course I have always been fascinated by wide open spaces and rugged local people.. not everyone would necessarily agree . So go to Guilin! Fabulous. Without doubt it's one of the best holidays we have had. ... and we have had a few during our ten year circumnavigatioj of the world in our 41ft Sailing Boat! Our guiide in Tibet, was ioutstanding. Our guide in Giulin was really very good. He is definitely trying very hard and was very helpful. And Thanks again for a really great trip. David and Barbara
Dear Cheryl, We had an wonderful and amazing trip which we enjoyed tremendously. You delivered what you promised and we were overall very happy with the services you provided. Xian: The hotel was very nice and it location wonderful. The guide, the car and the driver were exceptional. We appreciated and enjoyed every minute of our Xian visit. Lijiang: Our visit and stay in Lijiang was extremely enjoyable. Shangrilla: I already wrote how much we enjoyed the Tibetan guide we had in the Shagrilla area. His language skills were below those of others, but he more than compensates by his enthusiasm and acquaintance with the area. He gave us a wonderful time. If we visit the area again, we will definitely make every effort to have him again. The hotel was nice. The sites we saw were astonishing. The Tiger Leaping Gorge is just unbelievable and the road leading to Shangrilla was breath-taking. The park we saw in Shangrilla (with the two lakes) meets the beauty of the nicest mountain-parks we have seen including the Alps in Europe and Yosemitte in the US. The ancient city of Shangrilla is nice, but does not meet the beauty of Lijiang. The visit to the Tibetan home was astonishing (I am using this word too much). The monastery was also interesting. Kunming: The Stone forest is fantastic and the road leading to it was exceptionally interesting. WE enjoyed the flower marke. The guide was a real professional (he was efficient, his language skills were perfect and he provided thorough and fluent information). China is a wonderful and amazing country and we had a glimpse at a few exceptionally impressive sites. You delivered the services you promised and we had an outstanding trip. I particularly appreciate your backup system which allowed us to resolve a problem that came up. Your various promises were fulfilled to the letter. For example, while I found it appropriate to tip most of those who served us, you promised that this is not mandatory and, indeed, this was the case-there was no pressure to do so (contrary to the experience I had 5 years ago with a larger group). Also, the shopping part of the trip was a perfect. When we asked to shorten it, there was no pressure to stay longer or to buy anything (and we found some of the shopping places very interesting-stayed for a while and purchased some very beautiful items). Thank you for or your help. Best wishes uri rothblum
Sunny, We have just returned from our trip. Unfortunately we didn't have time to drop in to meet you when we were in Guilin. I want to say how much we enjoyed ourselves. The whole experience was brilliant. The tour guides were very professional. The food excellent. At no time did we want for anything other than was on our itinerary. Thank you. I also wanted to thank you for the birthday cake for my husband. He really did appreciate it. I will definitely be recommending your company to my friends if they are visiting China. Regards Roselle Beard and Steve Clapp
Hello Sunny. We have great memories of our visit to China. Thanks for all your help. Here are our answers to your questions: Themost memorable attractions: They were all memorable and none really stands out. The Forbidden City is impressive in Beijing; the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an because of the history; the Great Wall because it is so unique, the Li River cruise as the best way to see such beautiful scenery. But, we must not forget the local villages and people we came across during our travels - Collectively, these were the most memorable for us. Most outstanding tour guide: They were all good. However, Yin in Lijiang does stand out for us. There just seemed to be the right mixture of attitude, knowledge, professionalism, care for the client, that made it an absolute pleasure to share our vacation with her. The way she approached our requests, questions and overall stay was exactly what we were looking for. Hotels and meals:all the hotels we stayed in met our expectations. The Banyan Tree in Lijiang for the design and setting and the Fuchun resort in Hangzhou for facilities and luxury stand out for us. Cheers. Keith & Lesley Barnett
Dear Morgen, Regarding our trip, it was a fantastic experience for all of the students and my family. From the quality of the hotels to the variety of the cuisine, everything was beyond expectations. Our trip was an amazing balance of city and country, comfortable at times and challenging at others. Our group saw China in a way that will forever last in our memories and has inspired all of us to learn more about the nation, people, and culture. We are once again grateful for the professionalism and care exhibited by your organization and our guides (especially Foster) and look forward to working with China Highlights again . Sincerely, Edward Hing
Hello Morgen, Just a quick note to let you know what a wonderful holiday we all had. Your itinary was just fantastic and I congratulate you and China Highlights for a trip we loved very much. Your guides, in particular Jeffray Qin, in Shanghai were wonderful. Jeffray went right out of his way to show us everything. He was a true gentleman and took very good care of us, worried about us constantly and I must say, he is an asset to your company. The other guides too were very good, namely Lui Xin in Xian, Peter in Chongqing and Ana in Hong Kong and our guide in Macao. I have lost the guide's name in Beijing but she was wonderful and we actually shed a tear when we parted company. They all gave much more than was expected. We cannot fault them in any way, in fact, we can't give enough praise. China Highlights are to be highly recommended. Again, many many thanks, it was indeed a memorable experience in your wonderful country. Kind regards, Phyllis Sparks.
Candy, The paragraph below expresses my additional comments about China Highlights: I really enjoyed working on planning my travel itinerary with China Highlights agent, Candy Wei. Since I have previously lived and worked in China, I know that traveling in China can sometimes be frustrating or that unanticipated problems may present themselves in the process of getting from one place to another. I was impressed with the way China Highlights managed a river boat cruise that I organized and booked for a group of friends about 4 years ago. The section that was booked through China Highlights was the only part of that travel tour that went well so I decided to make life easy for myself this time and turned over nearly all of the arrangements for our trip to your agency. I've been very pleased to discover how your agency has grown and developed in the years since I used your services previously. You now offer all sorts of custom tour options that I very much appreciate--I usually hate to use a tour agency as I very much like to see and do things outside of the standard tourist attractions. You've made it easy for me to travel and tour as I normally would on my own, but without me being forced to struggle with the language barrier in arranging all the needed services. Thank you!
Dear Eva,
Thanks a lot for organising our tour. We really had a splendid holiday and we really liked China.
Sissy, our guide in Guilin and Yangshuo was very enthousiastic and very flexible. She offered us a lot of opportunities to visit, but left the choice to us. She was very listening and reserved. Hu, our guide in Beijing was also extremely helpful and patient. He helped us a lot with our luggage troubles. Our guide in Hong-Kong was also outstanding. He gave us a lot of interesting information, especially about the differences between Hong-Kong and the mainland of China.
All hotels were decent to excellent. The best hotel was the Holiday inn in Wuhan. We really liked the Chinese meals. The best place to eat was the Sichuan Style restaurant in Beijing. (near the Hutong area).
The meals on the cruise were also outstanding. We would surely recommend it to our friends. The organisation was magnificent. Everything went very fluently and we didn't have any problems. You can be proud on the service you provide. It is like an oiled machine. Greets and thanks, Griet
