Dear Sunny,
Many thanks for your outstanding job of customizing our tour!!!
We had so many memorable attractions that it's hard to just pick one, but I'd have to say the terraced fields (Guilin area - ethnic tribes, Longji Area) were outstanding.
Once again, our tour guides were excellent. They all were very knowledgeable, very flexible, very much in good shape (fitness), as we hiked and biked, etc. Vivian was our first China guide and set the standard! We were blessed to have such good guides and so many wonderful places to visit.
Our accomodations on the Yantze Cruise were upgraded (to the $600) rooms - they were great!! We had some problems with the Guilin Bravo, it was an ok hotel, but Charlotte and Fran first were put in a room (because they needed a twin room) that was not clean and asked to be moved. I'd have to say it was an ok, but not great hotel. The Yichang to Xian train was really dirty (the only train trip we had that was bad, all others were great), I'd have to say the Sunworld Hotel was the favorite. All the meals were great, but in every case we had more food than we could eat. I'd suggest having fewer foods, or the same variety but smaller amounts.
We loved our trip in China, and we loved the shopping :) Of course, the Great Wall is a do not miss, as is the Longji Area, our group is very active and loved the hikes and biking (both in Xian and Yangshou), the Yantze Cruise I wouldn't have wanted to miss, and the warriors are a do not miss. We thought these were all highlights when we arranged for the trip and in all cases were not disappointed. The cycling in Yangshou was especially neat because we got to go through small villages and back roads/trails. The Hutong was very neat too. The evening shows on the cruise and in Xian and Beijing were wonderful. We also went to the evening Acrobatic show in Beijing. What a wonderful time.

Eva,
I just wanted to let you know that we couldn't be happier with our experience with China Highlights. I also wanted you to know that I filled out your survey in Guilin and used the name "Ping" for our guide. She introduced herself as Claire, but we asked about her Chinese name, then asked her permission to use it instead. We did not want her to get into trouble for letting us call her Ping. She was OUTSTANDING!
Thanks so much for your services.
Nancy
Dear Eva,
We enjoyed everything we saw.I particularly remember the Great Wall, the Terra Cotta warriors, the Three Gorges Dam, the Chongqing zoo, my bike ride in Yangshuo, the Maglev ride, and an optional activity we picked: the Huangpu River cruise in Shanghai.
All our guides were excellent. If I had to rate one above the others, I'd probably pick Tunker in Beijing, but I don't have a good reason.
All the hotels, were excellent. No one hotel or meal seemed clearly superior to the others.
Definitely will recommend our company to my friends or colleagues. Having said all that, I should also say we had a wonderful time and appreciated all the help you and China Highlights gave us in planning and organizing our trip.
Dear Carol,
This is just a short note to let you know that we are now back at our home. We visited China during April of 2009 and thoroughly injoyed our vacation. We would highly recommend China Highlights as an outstanding tour company.
In particular, we would recommend Carol Wang at the Guilin Office. Carol was able to answer all of our questions and prepare an itinerary based on our specific interests.
Our tour guides and drivers provided excellent and friendly service and were well informed about the attractions that we visited. We enjoyed our trip to China very much and would like to thank you for your hospitality during our visit with you at your office in Guilin. We would also like to thank you for your gifts.
There were many memorable attactions, but I think the most memorable part of our visit to China was the friendliness and courtesy of the Chinese people rather than a physical attraction.
Your tour guides, Cobing Chen, Lola wei Yan and Cherry and your drivers provided outstanding service during our trip.
I would highly recommend China Highlights to anyone considering a trip to China. Attached is the picture that we took at your office. It is a reduced size file using the JPEG format. Please let me know if you are not able to open it and I can change the format and size.

Dear Carol,
I really appreciate how hard you worked with me it wasn’t easy but in the end it was worth it. I have some conments about my time in China. Here is some suggestion.
I think the client needs to participate in planning their trip on every level. Carol and I worked very hard on the schedule so nothing was a surprise. I was equally responsible for the planning of the trip as she was. The client should do a lot of reading on all the different attractions, hotels, and restaurants.
If the client has scheduled some alone time with themselves without the guide. I would like to make the following suggestions for the guide. When the guide meets the client at the airport then puts them in the car after the basic introductions the guide should put a couple of suggestions together on a piece of paper.
especially if the client is on their own for dinner
1. Write down a couple of restaurants
2. Write down where the closest atm machine is
3. if there are certain foods that the client doesn’t eat have the guide write it down in Chinese so that the client can show the waitress as well as some of the dishes that they like. If the client doesn’t use chopsticks write down in Chinese fork and knife.
4. if the client plans on buying a phone card to make long distance calls or a card for local calls, explain that most of the cards only work in the city that they are purchased in and some times do not work from the room. And some local cards block you from using the long-distanced card.
Dear Eva,
Sorry I've taken so long to send this feedback to you. We had the most wonderful trip to Xinjiang. Our tour guides were wonderful. Abdulwali was one of the best tour guides I've ever had. He was intelligent, spoke excellent English, was totally flexible, knowledgeable and really taught us a lot about the local culture. Oh, and did I mention handsome?? We were all very sad to say goodbye to him.
Our tour guide in Urumqi and Turpan, Raziya was also wonderful. She was delightful and helpful in every way and also totally flexible when we said things like "We want to go to the bazaar again!" Both drivers were also very safe, responsible and flexible too.
We all loved Kashgar the most and i would recommend anyone going to that region to spend time there. It was so culturally different for us and historically so interesting.
The service in Kashgar and Turpan was excellent and the staff did everything to help us. We were really dreading having to return to the Ramada in Urumqi for our last night.
Anyway, overall we had the best trip and we're still talking about it and looking at our photos. I am happy to share my photos etc on your website but of course can't remember my password! Yes, I am happy for you to give my email address to anyone thinking of doing the same trip.
Looking forward to organising our next trip with you and thank you for your excellent service again.
Best wishes,
Angela
Hi Karen,
We returned home from Beijing a couple of days ago and are still in vacation mode!
First of all, thank to you, your team and the guides for making our trip lovely and memorable. Susmit, Hema and I had a jolly good time in all the locations we visited.
It is difficult picking an attraction but if we were to pick a few, we would pick the Terracotta warriors, Mogao and Lake Karakul. Between Jiaohe and Gaochang, we liked both - Jiaohe was well preserved while Gaochang was large in scale. If I were to pick one, I would probably pick Jiaohe.
All our guides were good in their own way - Echo (Xian) and Mohammed (Turfan, Urumqi) were thoroughly professional and were sensitive to what we wanted to do, Helen (Dunhuan and Jiayuguan) went out of her way to help us, Abdul (Kashgar) was quite colorful and gave us a very local flavour, Star (Datong) managed to fit in everything we wanted to see in Datong, Ms Wong (Taiyuan) was lovely and impressive and we really wished we spent more time with her.
Hotels were all up to standard. Meals were good too. However, I think the tendency is to over order and so we ended up wasting food in most places. If the guide could judge how much people tend to eat from one meal and then adjust accordingly, that would have been good.
We will let you know once we sort out our photos.
Thanks again for your help in arranging the trip.
Hi Sunny,
Before I forget (again) thank you very much for the birthday cake. I must admit that was a big surprise. I liked that very much.
As to the most memorable attraction, that is difficult. The forbidden city was the most memorable in Beijing. As I had never seen it before and it was too misty to enjoy the Wall. In Xian I should have to say the terracotta warriors, the sheer size of it is mind bogling but the museum was even more interesting and the artworks were astounding. For Guilin the landscape is breath taking and has its own charm and is a highlight in it self. Even the train ride has a charm of seeing the landscape. So, I can't really choose.
As to the most outstanding tour guide, I would have to say the first guide. But all knew a lot of the subjects they showed us and they all had a very good way of bringing it. But the way Alan adapted to our schedule was most appreciated and his choice of restaurants was the best I have to say. Admittedly he had more lunches to arrange as opposed to the other two. But all in all it had to be Alan.
All hotels were good. In terms of location the Osmanthus was the best. The view was fantastic. In terms of breakfast the Day's Inn was best and the Prince international the worst.
All lunches were in general good and only one was disappointing. That was the lunch in Xian on the first day. The best lunch is more difficult to choose, but I think the one near the Great Wall was the best.
I can only say our program was best and had all the essential highlights. Also the shows were good choice. However one primary advice, all cities would need (at least) one more day. Take more time in Beijing, Xian and Guilin, to also explore the city centers which are beautiful and interesting. Also ensure the river cruise in Guilin is planned on the right day (wheather). and to either do the cycling trip, raft or car through the country side in Guilin. Also here take one more day to explore Guilin.
I would maybe warn them not to do the train from Xian to Guilin though.
I will 100% recommend your company. I am already recommending your company to everyone I tell about the trip.
I will follow up with some photo's later when I got them sorted.
Once again, thank you for the unforgetable holiday.
Paul
Dear Karen,
We had a very nice time, and thank you and your company for all help. You all did our trip successful.
The Wall and Tarracotta are the most memorable attraction of my tour, also the Show of Impression Liusanjie at Yangshuo was unique and exclamatory.
All of the guides are good, Jeff is the best, he has become our friend at the end.
All of the hotels are ok, but the one at Beijing is small, and we had expected better beacuse it is called 'Deluxe Room'.The people in reception and restaurant were very good and friendly.
For your information, i have got aboard on 3 differnet airlines during this tour, but i felt the one did not take my safety very seriously, People was walking in the plane during take off and landing. People was sitting on the floor and filming out window, beside the emergency exit. And the crew did almost nothing.
Finally, we did a nice time with all of your staffs' efforts, if anyone wishes to know how your service is, i am happy to write my comments.
Kind Regards,
Leiv-Petter
Hi Candy,
Thank you so much for your help in booking this trip. I will definitely be recommending China highlights to any friends travelling to China. The level of service exceeded our expectations, the attention to detail and the adaptability as well as the ready service made it a pleasure to deal with you Candy and of course China Highlights.
The only suggestion I would make is for the cost of the trip to be more transparent. As you are already very competitive in your pricing (perhaps a market leader) knowing the specifics will ensure that customers feel comfortable before they travel with you as I am sure all will afterwards.
Thank you again for making our holiday memorable and I especially appreciate the personal advice you were able to give Candy.
Regards,
Nathan
