We had a wonderful time. We were so impressed with the personal service and the ease of the trip. Our favorite tour guide was Jenny. She really gave her all and was fun to be with. Seven was training with her during our time in Guilin and he was also very nice.

One of my favorite tours was going up the Shennongxi Stream with the Boat Trackers. It was fun and the area was beautiful. We also liked being on the Presidential Cruise Line. The service was really good and the food was great! Going up the Li River was also incredible!

We have recommended your company to all our friends here in Shanghai and in the United States.

We would like to thank you and your staff at China Highlights for coordinating a wonderful China vacation for us. Both my husband and I work long hours and did not have time to plan a trip to China for our family.   China Highlights made it easy. Carol recommended sights and attractions that both teenagers and adult would enjoy. Carol and her team were able to accommodate my daughter’s vegetarian diet.  The tour guides wrote her notes in Chinese so we could use it in restaurants to explain her dietary needs. When the airlines suddenly changed our flight days, we called Carol and she was able to adjust our tour schedule to fit our new visiting time. Carol was quick to respond to all of our other questions and concerns that we emailed her. The Hotels were very comfortable and in ideal locations. The tour guides (Jeff, Le, Tracy and Pan) and their drivers were very professional and had our interest in mind. We never wasted time waiting in line or looking for buses to all the sites that we visited. Our drivers and guides made it possible to visit more sites and spend more quality time in China. The guides were very knowledgeable and informative.  We have been telling all our relatives, friends and co-workers about the great job Carol Wang, her co-workers and China Highlights did to give our family a vacation of wonderful memories to last a life time.

Dear Candy,

This is a difficult question to answer that what is the most memorable attraction...we saw such a variety of wonderful, exciting, and beautiful things. The blend was good. The scenic beauty things suited us because of how we usually spend our holidays, but one couldn't go to China and not see places like the Pearl Tower in Shanghai, the Warriors in Xian, and Forbidden City/Temple of Heaven in Beijing. I can't think of 'the' thing that was best.

As for tour guide: Again, not an easy question. Each brought different strengths. Helena's English was best, Lucy's enthusiasm and vitality was great, Lilly was very knowledgeable...hard to choose one who was most outstanding. The ideal guide, from my perspective, speaks English well enough to be easily understood, is flexible, has good suggestions for things to do but doesn't push anything, is on-time, and is helpful in dealing with local customs, etc. Each guide met these qualifications...you obviously select them well.

The hotels were fine and the breakfasts good with good variety (except Yangshoo where it was more limited). The Bund had especially good breakfasts. The extra space in Xian was nice. It would have been good to have a queen or king bed in each place as requested...those weren't usually available. The beds were a bit hard for the taste of most Americans, but were satisfactory.

The lunches were excellent...really too much food. Choices excellent. We really liked eating with locals rather than in tourist restaurants. Lucy's suggestion to eat in the Korean barbeque restaurant in Beijing was a great and enjoyable change from the usual fare. Loved the variety of food...noodles, dumplings, etc.

There did have some things to make you WOW: In many ways the Great Wall was the biggest 'wow' but we also enjoyed the raft trip as well as the boat trip on the Li. The warriors were a definite wow. The Huashan Mountain in Xian was also great. The view from the Pearl Tower was pretty great as well. The beauty and expansiveness of the Forbidden City was pretty awesome as well.

Everything and everyone were satisfactory. The tour guide, the driver, the sightseeing, were all fantastic. We have bragged to everyone back in Australia how good our tour was.

We will state right at the beginning, that it was a pleasure having you as our trip supervisor. Your professional attitude, readiness to find a solution to any problem (and succeeding in finding those), availability at any time even at late hours and at weekends and, inter alia, your courtesy and kindness behavior, are remarkable and worth mentioning.

Regarding the trip, the Hotels you've chosen were very good and well located, the service of the guides was professional with splendid attitude , the transportation was fine , and except for some minor obstacles in Yangshuo in Shanghai, we enjoyed most of the restaurants you choose. We also enjoyed very much the acrobatic show, the Kong-Fu show and the lessons of Kung Fu and Chinese Painting.

We want to use this opportunity to mention especially our guide in Guillin, Vivian, and our guide in Beijing, Nancy, in that order. Vivian attitude and her attribute to our pleasant stay in Guillin and the area are worth mentioning. Nancy is also a remarkable guide. We enjoyed having both of them as our guides. We should also mention our driver in Shanghai, who attended to our needs always with a smile. 

In summery, you probably will be happy to hear, that we find our visit to China to be enjoyable and well organized. We were left with a taste of wanting to come back to China once again.

We surly will (and in fact already did) recommend you, Rebecca, and Chinahighlight, to our colleges and friends.

My name is Cabel Sholdt, son of Chuck Sholdt, and with my family I took a tour of Xi'an and the Great Wall through your company.  I just wanted to compliment you, your company, and my guides (Christina in Xi'an and Cobing at Mutienyu) on making my first trip to China a truly wonderful experience.

The selection of sights to see, the knowledge of both Christina and Cobing, and the comfort of the trip was amazing.  I was particularly impressed with the knowledge that both Christina and Cobing had about the places they took us and the history behind the sites.

Christina was a wonder. She never seemed to tire, was always happy and more than willing to help with anything we needed. Her organization and ability to handle the unexpected (such as overzealous street vendors) made the entire trip a truly pleasant experience. She is truly a wonderful asset for your company. If I, or anyone I know, ever goes to Xi'an I will have no hesitation in recommending China Highlights and Christina to show them around.

I feel a little sorry for Cobing. After 13 days of touring around China with both China Highlights and business associates of my Father's, my entire family and I were more than a little tired and, probably, more than a little surly towards him. He handled us with grace and cheerfulness that we didn't deserve. His knowledge of the Ming Tombs and the flexibility in handling our requests made our final tour in China a wonderful experience. Again, if I, or anyone I know, ever comes to Beijing I will recommend China Highlights and Cobing to show them the city.

One last thing I would like to complement your company and both Christina and Cobing on. When I have toured other countries with other companies, the tours sometimes feel like giant shopping trips. We would spend 15 to 20 minutes at some amazing historical site and then 2 hours at a shopping mall. I am not a shopper, when I tour a country, I want to experience that country; its sights, its sounds and the people. Both Christina and Cobing would ask if we would like to go to a market or a store and if we declined, they did not make an issue of it.  To me, this is the best of all worlds, if I was a shopper I would have the opportunity to shop but since I am not, I never felt pressure to buy anything or even go into shopping centres. China Highlights and its guides have a nice and unique policy concerning shopping, please never change it.

My family and I really enjoyed our trip to China. We loved every minute and all the drivers and tour guides were amazing.
I thought the Great Wall of China would be overrated but that was the one attraction that we could not stop talking about. We climbed to the 20th tower at the Mutainyu Great Wall on a hot day. We had a lot of fun and the views were amazing. We took a lot of pictures and video, it was a lot of fun. And the wall itself was amazing.
About the local tour guides,we loved Pan, who was our tour guide in Shanghai. He was very excited to see us and talked nonstop, always giving us information about Shanghai or whatever we were passing on the road, answering all of our questions, and then also giving us helpful information about language, culture, bargaining. He also gave us suggestions for the evening, directions, his card with phone number. And he was very helpful in figuring out to use the cell phone and making international calls.
The Great Wall of China. Pan and Jay, our tour guides in Shanghai and Beijing were amazing, more friendly and fun to be with than expected, the Jade Buddha Temple (although I think we thought it was wow because of all the information Pan told us), the food!! Everyplace we went to was great and had tasty food. The Wangfujing pedesterian street in Beijing, mainly because of the snacks that you don't typically see in America. We went there every night to try something new. Same thing with the Muslim Market in the Muslim quarters, that was also fun and we went there nightly. And the Forbidden City. Much much larger than we thought. Oh, and Jet Li's house.
I would recommend your company to myfriends . It was an amazing trip at an amazing price. We are definitely recommending China Highlights. I will be passing on this website to others, I know some friends that want to visit China in next 2-3 years and hopefully i will be returning around similar time as well. Thanks again Carol for helping me with this tour, I really really enjoyed it.

 I wanted to write and tell you thank-you for a very enjoyable tour to the Ming Tomb, Sacred Way, and the Great Wall.

Laura was very friendly and easy to get along with. Her flexibility to ensure that I was able to get on the Great Wall yesterday shows me that she wants to make sure that her customers get what they paid for. When I am in Beijing again I will definately contact her for another tour.
