Dear Karen I am still in Asia -- spending 10 days in Thailand. Thanks you so much for arranging the tour for me. Everything went perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed the efforts of your staff and the arrangements. There was sufficient flexibility, given that I was "solo", that adjustments could be made "on the fly" and timing was not as critical as it might be for a group. The accommodations were very good, although I would have preferred a more "wandering" friendly site in Shanghai -- at the other cities I could go out and there was a very "busy" and "bright" environment. The Ocean Hotel, is very nice facility. Also, on that point, I mentioned in my surveys that (and this is a reflection of my personal approach) efforts might be made to assure that individuals or very small (fewer than 4?) groups be timed to arrive at "shopping" destinations with larger groups. Taken all together, your staff was friendly, helpful, mostly competent in English (and willing to learn), and very knowledgeable on the sites that we visited. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone whom I might know who is travelling to China. I have a little advice for you here: While I understand the effort to offer shopping opportunities (and they are useful), and the fact of your arrangements, it is a bit uncomfortable to be the only object of a shop staff's interest. I recommend you make some changes in this point in your future arrangements. Thank you for your efforts. Mike Forgash

Hello Ms. Jean Fu, We have returned from our trip to China. Your service was excellent; the tickets were waiting for us at the hotel when we arrived in Shanghai and the airline flight to Ningbo was comfortable and on time. We only spent six days in China and that was not enough. We will be planning to return for a longer holiday some day so that we may have more time to see and learn more about your wonderful country and the people. We have attached two pictures. Dear Jean, I have been back now and I really had a wonderful time in china. Thank you for all you had done for us. I recently travelled to China on a Chinahighlights organized tour from Australia visiting Beijing, Xian, Giulin and Shanghai in October 2005. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip but in particular I would like to commend Alex Guan who was our guide in Giulin. Alex was knowledgeable and accommodating but most of all was extremely personable. The tickets were waiting for us at the hotel at our arrival in Beijing. We had a wonderful time in China. Dear Mr. Morgen, I hope this email finds you well.I just completed the Service Evaluation Form you sent me and have submitted it, but words cannot express how pleased I am with this whole experience. I want to thank you for your time and your attention and patience with my questions and additions and subtractions to our itinerary throughout the past few months. I appreciate your quick responses, your attention to detail, and all of your explanations. I was very happy with our tour guide and our driver. I give our driver a lot of credit - I am from the New York area and I thought driving in New York was a challenge, but he was truly impressive in the Beijing traffic, always waiting for us when we were through with our stops on the tour, and very friendly and courteous. He made us feel safe. I was asked about this in the Service Evaluation Form you sent and also the one I filled out and gave to our tour guide on the last day, but I cannot stress enough how wonderful we thought Betty, our tour guide, was. She made us feel so welcomed and so comfortable in a place very, very far from home. Sometimes it is intimidating to visit a country for the first time, especially when you are unfamiliar with the language, but from the moment I stepped off the plane and saw her waiting for us with a big smile on her face, I was so relaxed and at ease and knew I would be able to enjoy this whole trip and that everything would be taken care of. She was kind, warm, friendly, had a great sense of humor and was able to explain everything to us so that we could appreciate the magnificence of it all. I loved that she was so flexible. One day on our way to the Ming Tomb, I asked her what her favorite thing was to show visitors. She told me about the Cloisonne factory, and before I had a chance to blink, we, too, were visiting it and experiencing it for ourselves. I was in awe of the intricate and delicate work that goes into making this pottery, of the patience of the women who were doing this work. It was such a pleasant surprise. We purchased a vase and some Christmas ornaments that will remind us of our first trip to China every time we glance their way. Betty was fantastic. She was such a big part in making this trip so special, and I cannot say enough good things about her or this whole experience. It was simply magical. So thank you, thank you, thank you! Dear Karen, We had the most marvelous time. All travel arrangements were perfect. The visits to the Ethnic regions were wonderful, and hotel accommodations in those regions were the best available. All food was terrific. The only suggestion I would make is that while the roads to those regions are under construction (!!), you allow more time to get to the regions. Leaving at 9:30 got us to the destinations too late for good photograph lighting, and we requested that lunch be skipped to save the time. That worked out fine. We took the night boat tour in Guilin, and I would suggest you mention that as an option to your customers. It was spectacular. Our guide in Guilin, Jan-Chiang, was charming and so very helpful. We enjoyed her very much, and wish to let you know that she was excellent. She made arrangements for us to attend the evening show in Yanshou, which was the most wonderful event, and I would suggest that you include that as part of your regular tour, or at least suggest it as an option. It was a highlight of the trip. We enjoyed Yanshou very much, especially the walk along the river. On our next visit, I would like to spend an additional day in Yanshou, visiting the other little villages. I would also suggest you skip the Li River tour on the big tour boat and take one of the smaller bamboo rafts from Yanshou. We will do that next time. Our guide in Hong Kong, Anna, was also superb. We had a wonderful tour with her, and she gave us excellent suggestions for the two days we would spend in Hong Kong on our own. We took a ferry to Cheng Chau Island for one day and enjoyed that very much. She also arranged a sampam ride at Repulse Bay which was great. We will definitely return to China, and would like to visit another region, ending up in Hong Kong, as we did on this trip. We have visited Shanghai, Beijing, and Xian in the past, and do not wish to return there. We also are not interested in the Yangtse cruise. We welcome any suggestions for a visit to another area of China where we might spend a 5 or 6 days. We enjoy the small villages, visiting local families, and just walking around taking pictures. First of all, your service was excellent. I have recommended you to anyone who is thinking of coming to China. My guide in Wuhan, Mike, and his driver were very nice to me. I felt very safe with them. The Holiday Inn in Wuhan was a very good hotel.The River Trip was very nice. I had good accommodations. Recommendations for you. For anone who does speak Chinese, it would be very nice. Overall, I had a wonderful trip to China and highly recommend it to my friends. I have been planning a trip to china since March and from the moment we decided to go to China, I have been in contact with China Highlights tours, I have been dealing with Tour Advisor Steven Zhao (steven@chinahighlights.com) He has been unbelievably helpful and incredibly patient in helping me plan my trip. He has given me great advise and assured me that my trip is taken care of from the moment I arrive in Beijing. He has calmed my nerves about traveling to a foreign country.
