We did not expect to be picked up from the boat port & taken to our hotel by Helen the tour guide, & she was very helpful with our booking as the Yichang International hotel had limited English.

Nono was in between both on her skills, attitude, and knowledge. Most of what she said we could have gleaned from tour books. She had to use the internet to get to the next layer so we never bothered asking deeper questions. So we would judge her OK but not stellar.

It fit our needs very well. We were particularly impressed with Tony. He far exceeded our expectations in taking care of us. We plan on returning next year, and would like to have him as our guide again.

Simpson recommended the Sichuan opera and so we decided to head there on the first night, the show was great, a fantastic mix of music, dance and some comedy too. And the tea was lovely!

I must thank you and China Highlights for the act of kindness in providing me with a birthday cake. It was a lovely surprise and we scoffed (a Scottish word) the cake only allowing Iris a tiny mouthful of a cake fit for 4 people!!
