Hi Candy,
We really enjoyed our guide Jack. Here is a photo for him.
Jack related well with our family, he had a great personality and was very informative. Many still talk about the level of knowledge Jack had. He was flexible yet had our days well planned out and when we wanted to toss in another stop Jack was up for it.
Many thanks for making our Beijing experience a fab one!
thanks,
Sue Albrecht and family
Dear Jean,
The cruise and everything about it was just wonderful! The people on the boat, our room, the food, the tours were all great. The lectures and services on the ship were also very good.
Thank you for everything!
Danette
Hi Grace
I’m back finally settled in after a week. Trip was really good as mainly the company was fantastic.
The only complaint I have is the weather is just too hot and I shop so much that I was 16kg overweight … and the few thick winter jackets that I’ve packed contributed to my overweight too which I didn’t get a chance to wear them as it was even HOT up in Yellow Mountain my dear!!!!!!!
And had to borrow money (luckily I met someone) to pay for the excess baggage at Shanghai airport since your bank didn’t want our Malaysian dollars. It was really so frustrating … I didn’t bother to handcarry too much as I didn’t want to lug all the heavy stuffs around and my other friends who left the next day were smarter than me – they handcarried all the heavy stuffs and only check in exactly 20kg which is their limit allowance!
Shopping was great in Shanghai and all the places we decided to visit. Food was the best in Suzhou and Allan is really good.
Anyway, I wonder if you do have just a tour to Harbin coz I heard from my friends during the Shanghai trip that it’s a place worth to visit or rather they were more dramatic – MUST GO IN THIS LIFETIME!!!!!!!
Am thinking of organizing for my year end family trip which is only six (6) of us.
Will u consider such a small group? Please let me know and if you have such kind of trip or even incl. two places nearby, pls let me have the itinerary so I can consider. Time that my family is free should be around 12th Dec 09 – 11th Jan 2010.
Thanks.
Michelle
Hi Grace,
Yes, back home and almost back to work.
There are many things I'll remember about our trip and our time with your company on our trip to Suzhou. From the first contact some months ago to our farewell at Suzhou station, China Highlights has been fantastic! Our guide was Brenda Li and she was always smiling, always on time and always charming. She even helped me with learning a few words in Mandarin. It was Brenda who suggested that we might like to visit the Embroidery Museum once she realised our interest in silk and sewing generally. It was breathtaking! You mentioned WOW factor, well this museum has that and more. Nothing was too much trouble for her or for our driver.
We were never hassled to buy anything from anywhere in particular but when we wanted to shop we could. I'm sure there were times we were running behind schedule because we like to shop but we were never rushed.
The only thing I would change and this I'm sure will come with time (and more western tourists) has nothing to do with your company but I'm sure eventually the hotels will start offering smoking and non-smoking rooms. Even though the Garden Hotel is always clean, there'll always be the smell of previous smokers in the rooms.
Over-all it was a terrific visit to Suzhou and one I'll remember always. I'll be happy to recommend China Highlights to friends and I'm sure the business will be more and more successful because of the professionalism of all the people in your company.
I hope to visit China again as soon as possible and I'll use your sevices again.
Yours Sincerely,
Christina
Hello Grace,
I have just returned from Shanghai very tired but happy. My sister-in-law Christina Hudson organised a trip to Souzhou with you and I must tell you how wonderful it was.
Firstly - Brenda. What a lovely, happy girl - we could not have wished for a better tour guide. If all your guides are as pleasant you must be very successful. I particularly enjoyed the Humble Administrators Garden and the Lion Forest Garden. We asked Brenda if she would take us to the Embroidery Museum as we had so enjoyed the Silk Museum. We were thrilled to see such beautiful embroidery and think that it could be included in your tours as the people who like silk also like embroidery.
The absolute highlight for me was Tongli Water town. I could have spent al lot more time there although it was mid afternoon before we dragged ourselves away.
It was a great trip - the car was clean and comfortable and the driver pleasant and helpful - thank you very much. I would certainly recommend China Highlights to any of my friends.
Thank you again,
Gretta
Hi Candy,
Most definitely, the Panda Base in Chengdu was the most memorable attraction I visited .
For the most outstanding tour guide, I is hard to choose between Stephanie and Jane - they were both great for different reasons. Stephanie was like an instant friend. She was my first contact in China and was so friendly, bubbly and went out of he way to accomodate my every need and made my feel like a queen. Jane was my last contact in China. She took me to the Panda Base, and even though she goes there all the time, she was as excited as I was about going. I will always remember her because she made sure that I was going to hold a panda, and that I would be the first person that day. I hate to leave Eric out because he showed me the wonders of Xian and was also very friendly and patient with my needs (especially dietary!) I would have to say that all the guides and drivers were excellent, and they all made sure that I had a great vacation n China.
The first hotel, the Days Inn was probably the only one I might question. Although I booked 3 star hotels, the room was seemed to need some maintenance - it just didn't measure up to what I would call a 'Days Inn standard.' Other than that, everything else at the hotel was great. Both of my other hotels were great, but my favorite was probably the hotel in Xian. It had a room-lenght window over looking the city and it was very comfy.
The pandas made me go WOW - everyone should see Panda Base. The section of the Great Wall that I visited because it was so NOT-crowded and a very breathtaking experience. The friendliness and special treatment by the guides (and drivers) - they were all excellent representatives who provided constant WOW.
I would Definitely recommend your company to my friends or colleagues! I was very happy with everything you did for me Candy, and it was nice to speak with you in Beijing. If/when I ever travel to China again, you will be the first (and probably the only) person I contact to make my arrangements.
Again, I would have to say you should advertise the Panda Base more; let people know that you could arrange for them to actually hold a panda and have their photo taken.
I attached five photos for you. Thanks for everything Candy!
Nancy
Hi Candy,
The Great Wall - Jinshanling section was the most memorable attraction I visited. Vicky and Christina were both outstanding tour guides. Since we spent 3 days with Vicky we had the opportunity to get to know her better. She was extremely professional, very eager to make sure we were well taken care ofand lots of fun to be with. We only spent one day with Christina in Xi'an but she was also verry professional and knowledgeable and a great guide.
All the hotels and meals up to standard, I enjoyed most the Bell Tower in Xi'an because it had a clock in the room! Otherwise they were very similar. Food was great everywhere.
We spent the night at the guest house for the Jinshanling section of the great wall. We were the first ones up the following moring and having it pretty much to ourselves was definitely WOW.

Hi Sunny,
I like thank you, Sunny, and all the guides for the pleasant travel and for the precious attendance.
The most memorable attraction is the Terracotta Warriors. I'd like the most traditional sight of China, for example a market, the rice fields and others. Martina at Beijing is our best guide because she has been professional and available. Al the hotels are up to standard. For me the best is Bell Tower Hotel Xian.
I recommend your company to your friends or colleagues and I'll want to collaborate with you and to organize others travels
Bye, at soon
Marco
Sunny,
My wife and I had a really great time in Chengdu. You will see our comments below. Thanks for your assistance and we look forward to our Beijing, Xian tour at the end of October.
The panda keeper experience is excellent. There is a little work (the dirty jobs are done quickly and first thing) but the reward of being up close with the pandas is more than worth it.
Isabella Wan was our guide for the whole trip. I cannot say enough good things about her. She is knowledgeable, very attentive to the trip details and any changes we requested, and easy to work with. For private tours such as we took the guide can really impact the experience. Isabella did so in a very positive way. She helped us with tickets to the Sichuan Opera, showed us how to eat Sichuan hot pot, and overall went out of her way to make our trip enjoyable. We genuinely enjoyed spending a few days with her and she made our trip even better than we expected.
The Tianfu Sunshine Hotel in Chengdu was excellent, comfortable and clean room, and good location (it is walkable to shopping on Chunxi Road). The Hong Zhushan Hotel near Mt. Emei is just OK. The room felt damp and the bathroom could have been cleaned better. It was fine for one night but, we were glad to get to the Tianfu Sunshine Hotel. The restaurant at the Hong Zhushan Hotel was very good however. We had a great dinner there.
Sichuan food is outstanding for people like us who like spicy food. Our dinner was great at the Hong Zhushan Hotel and we ate all other dinners outside the hotel. Breakfast at both hotels were good with selections for everyone.
In addition to the Panda's, the Chengdu Shu Embroidery Co was great to see (and to buy things). Isabella was really the WOW factor for us. She not only gave recommendations for dinner she made sure that tried all the local cuisine, helped us order and made sure we new the process for things like Hot Pot, and Chengdu snack food. We live in Shanghai with some China eating knowledge and we found her assistance welcome and valuable.
We will definitely recommend China Highlights. As we had already booked another trip with China Highlights we were very glad to have such a great experience in Chengdu. We cannot wait to go on our next trip.
Best regards,
Jason
Hello Sunny:
Our trip is nearing its end and I wanted to thank you so much for the excellent arrangements, accommodations and guides you provided for us. Lily, in Guilin and Christina, in Xian were especially wonderful guides and WongDui, here in Lhasa showed us some of the most unique experiences of our trip. The time has passed SO quickly - that is a sign of a very good holiday. We have had so many memorable experiences I cannot begin to choose a favorite.
I am sorry we did not have the chance to meet you in Guilin, but I want to thank you for the gifts you sent. Very thoughtful!
If you need a reference, please feel free to use our name. And if we ever have occasion to vist the East again (I Hope we do), we will surely contact you!
Again, our deepest thanks,
Marla and Elmont
Dear Virginia,
I apologize for not sending this note sooner. I wanted to let you know what a wonderful time I had on my recent Beijing tour w/China Highlights.
My guide, Cobing Cheng, could not have been more delightful. He is very knowledgeable on the historical places we visited, and such a gentleman. In addition, he was able to assist me in opera tickets and a massage during my free time. Cobing is truly an asset to China Highlights.
My hope is that I will return to China and see even more of your lovely country. At that time I will once again call upon China Highlights as my reference.
Many thanks,
Judi
