Yuan Dynasty City Wall Relics Park

Yuan Capital City Wall Site Park extends across Haidian and Chaoyang districts from west to east and is the largest linear park in Beijing. It was originally built in 1267 and finished in 1276. The park is divided into two parts by a moat. The north section is the relics protected area and the south section is a garden dotted with sculptures and murals.

The park aims to celebrate the culture and achievements of the Yuan dynasty period. Walking along the park, visitors can read murals displaying poems which praise the beauty of nature. On the grass, sculptures of horses represent the invulnerability of the Yuan Dynasty. The sculptures of the founder of Yuan Dynasty Kublai Khan and the famous Italian traveler Marco Polo illustrate the peak of the dynasty.
