You will be picked up at Tianjing Cruise Port and your guide will escort you for the sightseeing in Beijing. Today we will arrange a visit to a renowned imperial garden – the Summer Palace. The largest existing and best preserved imperial natural landscape garden in China, it was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. A 10 minute boat cruise on the lake will have a panoramic view of surrounding scenery and a visit to the Hall of Virtue and Harmony is available to admire the largest ancient imperial theater in China. Lunch will be at a local restaurant which serves authentic Chinese food.

After breakfast, we will take you to visit Tiananmen Square, located in the hinterland of Beijing, counted as the largest city square in the world, witness to many historical events that happened here. Strolling across to the northward of the square, you will see the entrance gate of the Forbidden City, with red wall and yellow roof glazed tiles. The Forbidden City was home to 24 emperors and reputed as the largest imperial architecture complex in the world. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will get to stroll in the hutong area in Dongcheng District, take a rickshaw ride through the alleyway to get up close to the locals, where seeing the orthodox culture of Beijing is vivid.

Your trip today will start with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, an altar for emperors who communicated with the God of heaven and prayed for prosperity and a good harvest. Then we will head for the world's great man-made defense work - the Mutianyu portion of the Great Wall. With high recommendations from overseas tourists, it is less crowded and wider to see the magnificent scenery, a round trip cable car is available from the bottom to the opening section to avoid the steep climb, so that you can walk further up to challenge your bodies physically. Lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant near Mutianyu which serves delicious Beijing food. Beijing is the hometown of Cloisonné. We will arrange to visit a Cloisonné factory near the Great Wall. There is no pressure to buy.
